All The Worst (Best) Parts Of Green Lantern

On Halloween I constructed a crude but satisfying Green Lantern costume. I was pretty proud of it, and took my daughter out trick-or-treating. But, I still hadn’t seen the movie. Missed it in theaters, and hadn’t had a chance to watch the DVD yet.

And then I did watch it and… oh boy.

I wouldn’t say this was the worst movie ever, but it definitely had some really odd choices and some really bland parts. But! I will say that Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammond was both ruined and saved this movie. His hammy odd ball freak performance ran against everything else the direction, story, and other actors were trying to convey… but since they were all so bland, he was the only one with any life.

So I made this video. Enjoy.

Entertainment Tonight shows first behind the scenes look at GI Joe 2: Retaliation

Live-Action Phoenix Wright Movie in the Works

If you hadn’t heard already, Japanese director Takashi Miike (Ichi the Killer, IZO) has been put on to head a live-action Phoenix Wright movie that’s currently under post-production in Japan and looking at a February 11th release date.

The trailer is a bit confusing to watch due to the Japanese being yelled during the trailer’s running, but the footage itself looks spot-on, as any Phoenix Wright gamer will no-doubtly attest to. No word on localization in here in the states any time in the future, but given the game’s popularity on these shores, as well as the directorial credits, it’s not hard to think that we may someday see the movie officially released to American audiences. (at least you can hope for subbing sooner rather than later, no doubt)

Live Action Akira could star Tron’s Garrett Hedlund

Live action Akira movie starring Tron Legacy's Garrett Hedlund

The live action Akira film has officially been green lit by Warner Bros. and the current front runner to play Kaneda is Tron Legacy’s Garrett Hedlund. Plans are to start as early as February or March of next year.

So is Flynn Jr. a better Kaneda than Leo? Do you prefer this crappy photoshop to the one I did back when Powet.tv reported details on the movie’s director and writer?

A word to fans! Please don’t call this a remake, like fools at slashfilm and many others have done. Akira was a Manga before it was an Anime movie, so this simply an adaptation of that Manga in a different medium. We can still speculate about the validity of white people fucking it up, but it’s no more a remake than Dragonball Evolution was a remake of that shitty Anime Dragonball Z movie. Which one? Take your pick…

DC Showcase: Catwoman

Here’s a nice animation short that was included with the release of the Batman: Year One Blueray disc featuring one of the original comic femme fatales, Catwoman!

Back To The Future Alternate Ending

You know, we just got the Back To The Future Blu-Ray set a couple months ago, and I’m really upset this wasn’t included.
I mean, the mountain of extras on the disc, and this is something so cool that would’ve potentially taken the series in a radically different direction. I mean, what if Darth Vader really did melt George McFly’s brain?
