Better title:�Whatever Happened To The Mega Man Of Tomorrow?

I’m a card carrying member of the “I Beat Zelda II” club.�When I played through, I did a grind before the first couple dungeons and then a major grind to max myself out.
While Rock became Mega in the US, when they did Rockman X, the character was just called “X” so no translation needed.

The Gamecube MegaMan collection could still play like the NES one, using A to fire, X to jump.�

My Wii has some odd artifacting on some games. �I don’t get it all the time, and don’t recall seeing anything in my Donkey Kong Country Returns play through, but was very distracted during Metroid Prime 3 and Klonoa.

Thats a highlight reel of Halo 3 on the hardest difficulty level with 4 players. �took us over 3.5 hours to complete, the reel is 15 minutes of fails and incredible victories… set to Girl Talk music.

Alright, now I HAVE to track down that collection! �Probably cheaper than getting all those games on WVC (what ones are avilable, anyhow).

(For those others reading: I failed to mention that Zac was also there for the Mega Man Collection discovery back in 2003 or 2004 or whenever that was.)

Another bonus to picking up the collection for Gamecube or PS2 is that it makes beating the original Megaman easier. 🙂
Games I’m proud of having beat?� MM3, I beat it before my brother did.� We both beat Rescue Rangers together, which is something of an accomplishment because playing a game to completion with someone where you wind up hitting each other can be a challenge.� Hitting each other in game, I should specify, not that we didn’t/don’t hit each other in real life.
My pile of shame is such that I don’t really have any retro games that I’m actively trying to beat, I’m just trying to beat one of the the latest games I got and then I’ll move on to whatever strikes my fancy at the time.

I’m not sure how well it did in general, I asked on the Capcom forums, and they said “they were happy with the results” (not particularly enthusiastic) but I really really loved megaman 9 and 10.� They have tried to revive a lot of series, and they all sucked (for me) except for those.� They were tough, but not harder than the original nes games were.� If they weren’t hard they would be way too short.�

Even though those are probably my absolute favorite wii games, I wouldn’t even buy legends 3 if it was put out, there is no interest there.

I actually beat zelda 2 back when I was young as well, it was zelda 1 that I could never beat.� I didn’t have all the secret books and junk when I was young and I had to figure out which bush to burn by… burning every bush in the game.� I never was able to figure out how to beat gannon.� I kept thinking he would die eventually if I just kept stabbing him and he didn’t 🙁

I would never make my kid try to beat Silver Surfer, I would have to at least give him something I had beat myself!

The hardest game I ever beat I think is probably battletoads, it’s a bit hard to say since games�seem to get “easier” the more I play them.��My nemesis is definately�ghosts and goblins..� I haven’t beat Ninja Gaiden either despite getting to the very end, but for some reason ghosts and goblins haunts my dreams.

I also beat Zelda II as a kid, and was lucky enough to have ordered the LoZ and SMB hint books directly from Nintendo back then, so they helped a lot. I still have those, and if anyone gets a chance to pick them up I highly recommend them.

The hardest games I could beat back in the day were Ninja Gaiden I & II. It took�ridiculous�repetition, but once you have them memorized they aren’t horrible. I agree completely with you about Ghosts ‘n Goblins. To me that is the single hardest NES game (that is legitimately hard and not just cheap or buggy).

I beat Zelda II on the FDS. �I think I actually prefer the FDS leveling system, since you can up your strength a few times before going after the other stats, which makes grinding easier. �It’s really not too risky if you grind near a town, since there’s always a woman who gives you your health back if you follow her home.

Hardest game I ever beat? �I dunno. �Super C? �Castlevania? �Nothing really stands out. �Metal Storm was tough, but very satisfying.

The one that I always come back to is Rolling Thunder. �I love the game, but I still have never beaten it.

What Mega Man 2 did you play? You don’t start at the beginning of the castle when you run out of lives, you just start at the beginning of the level. Sorry if that sounded angry. I’m not.

When you run out of lives and need to continue, I mean. �All passwords bring you back to the main menu. �Strictly speaking, that’s true of all the levels, but Wily’s castle is the only stage that’s a “multi-parter”, if you will.

Blitz-Runner

Bah. The Whistle is also required in Zelda I to open the door to level 7, and it is required for multiple secrets in the Second Quest. Just thought I would throw out some clarification for my favorite game of all time
