I remember when Gambit was in all things X-Men… What the hell happened? It took 4 movies to get him back nowadays, and when they finally did, they screwed up his eyes and accent!

X-men Origins doesn’t count.

He got downplayed badly in the comics and disappeared for a while. I think that contributed.

Yeah but he was a staple in the comics originally. He even had his own series, and was one of Apocalypse’s horsemen. Although, that last bit doesn’t matter because nearly every damn character God (AKA Stan Lee) ever created was one of the horsemen at one point or another…
