Beyond Good & Evil 2 Still Moving

I can’t believe no one’s responded about this.

I would play the crap out of another Beyond Good & Evil game. The first one was just a ton of fun, and an interesting little experience unto itself.

I was too absorbed in other affairs to comment, but this is indeed wonderful news.

I really loved the first game. The storyline was pretty direct, and fun to play, but there was enough “other” stuff that made it feel like it wasn’t too linear — I suppose another aspect that made it feel like a Zelda game. I guess the only real comparison I can think of is the fighting mechanic. While it’s similar, it’s not something you spend as much of your time doing as you would in a Zelda game (iirc).

It’s definitely its own thing, and deserved much more recognition than it got. I’m guilty, sadly, because I was one of those people who didn’t get it until well after it was deemed unviable.

BG&E is a great game, I enjoyed it tremendously and so did my buddies, my only regret is giving them my copy to play instead of telling them to go out and buy their own!
I think one of the greatest contributors to it’s commercial failure has to be lack of proper advertising. The public just didn’t know the characters. I was on the verge of a depressive slump for a while when I was surfing the net and discovered theirs a sequel, and the pic I saw of Peyj looked great, so Ubisoft clearly has faith in the series (yep, it was initially tauted as a threesome, which explains the cliffhangar ending of the first installment) and I hope they will inject enough funds into the sequel to make it realise it’s full potential.
