Having been on a bit of a Voltron kick lately with the ‘V’ Powet Alphabet article and my most recent edition of PowetToys featuring the Voltron I-Men and the halloween costumes made by Sindra and myself, I couldn’t help but laugh when a good friend sent me a link to this video of a local newscast from the Boston area. Lawrence Maroney of the New England Patriots told reporters they needed to sit down and watch some cartoons with their kids because they had no idea who Voltron was.

It was only appropriate to follow Sindra’s Powet Alphabet article on Voltron with a review of the briefly mentioned Voltron I-Men figures that I have acquired over several toy hunts and conventions. Equally appropriate was the theme for our halloween costumes this year. Watch to find out more!

I got this hot tip on the chellphone this evening from powet faithful Robbie.

Reebok will be releasing 5 new colors for the Reebok Classic this October. These special shoes will be colored like one of the 5 Lion mechs, and each pair will come with the corresponding toy. Blue shoe gets you the blue lion, red gets you the red lion, and so on. Get all 5 pairs and you’ll be able to form Voltron: Defend Of The Universe!

I’ve never in my wildest dreams imagined the Voltron revamp would come from Reebok, but here it is. Five shoes, Five lions. These are apparently destined to tie in with a new 2008 series, which we’ve heard some rumors about.

We’ll have more info on this later, including where these shoes should be for sale and how much they’ll cost. If you had to give your favorite toyline a shoe, what would it be? Leave a comment below.

Whilst feeding my current fangirl kick with copious amounts of Voltron goodness from the old 1980’s series, I happened across some news in Wikipedia mentioning a new Live-Action Voltron movie in the works, as well as an interactive Voltron series being produced. Now, I know well enough Wikipedia can’t be relied upon as being 100% correct on all it’s news, or even 75% more often than not. However, when I stumbled upon a supposed teaser trailer for a new animated Voltron, I began to wonder.

Kickstar Productions also has it listed on their website as “In Production”. Does this mean we’ll actually recieve a new animated series that will wash the bad taste out of the mouths of those who watched “Voltron: 3rd Dimension” and cried? Only time will tell.
