PowetToys: Voltron I-Men
by Crazy, filed in Animation, Powet Toys, Toynami, Voltron on Dec.02, 2009
It was only appropriate to follow Sindra’s Powet Alphabet article on Voltron with a review of the briefly mentioned Voltron I-Men figures that I have acquired over several toy hunts and conventions. Equally appropriate was the theme for our halloween costumes this year. Watch to find out more!
Do any of you commenters have any good memories of Voltron? Let us know below!
Disclaimer: These figures were bought by me, for me.

I didn’t know Peter Cullen was the narrator for Voltron. Very cool.
I’m impressed by your plushie making abilities. Do you plan on finishing your Black Lion, are will it stay as is?

Black Lion will stay as he is. I still intend on doing the Red Lion and now the Yellow Lion as well. If I want the finish the Black Lion, I’ll probably just make a new one. The thought of opening him up and dealing with all the stuffing while trying to sew is not a pleasant thought. It’ll also give me an opportunity to fix a few minor issues I had with it.
Fun fact: the chest emblem doubles as a pocket for cash and ID. I didn’t know if Sindra had made pockets in the costumes, so I wanted to make sure there was a spot to hold that.

Awesome.
Putting a pocket in the lion is an amazing idea that was not obvious from what photos I’d seen.
Will Black Lion 2.0 incorporate Voltron combining technology?
I figure if you aren’t on a deadline, that would be nifty to see.

I didn’t know about Cullen either. So obvious in retrospect.

There were actually only about 5 or 6 voice actors for the entire show. They included
Michael Bell
Lennie Weinrib
Peter Cullen
Jack Angell
and I’m missing a couple others.
