San Diego Comic Con was this past weekend and lots of news poured out of the convention. Here is the first of several link round ups trying to recap on most of what went on. This article concentrates on movie announcements and panels. After the jump you’ll find plenty of links for Jonah Hex, Iron Man 2, Sherlock Holmes, Wanted 2 and much much more! An annual tradition in the United States is being held tonight. You see, all the big marketing geniuses make commercials for their new products, and in between those commercials there is an American football game.
Movie studios are now pulling out the big guns, and a lot of their teasers are already online.
UPDATE: Many of these ads have been pulled from youtube, but you can see them all on Hulu.com/superbowl as they air in the game, or using the viewer below!
Apologies to international readers, Hulu only works in the States. Transformersmovie.com has TF2, and Coming soon has GI JOE.
Marvel.com has premiered a new trailer for the upcoming animated DVD release of Hulk Vs, a compilation of two major showdowns; Hulk vs Wolverine and Hulk vs Thor. The trailer shows us a much deeper story than expected from the previous action only trailer. We even get to see a couple Weapon X characters including Sabretooth, Deadpool and Omega Red.
The trailer showed up over the weekend in front of the latest 007 film, but those that want to see it again or missed it in theaters can watch it on Apple’s movie trailer site
Doesn’t look like any of the usual video sites are hosting a good quality embedded version, but the link above will get you HD versions of the trailer.
Now I love Star Trek — LOVE IT. But this trailer does something Star Trek has never done, which is look exciting. I’ve always cared about the drama and suspense of Star Trek, but the action has always been lacking, its best moments carried out by older captains and slow space fights. This new Star Trek is going for Star WARS fans, and that cool. As long as they stay true to those characters and this universe, it’ll be a thing worth celebrating for Star Trek fans. Engage.

I’ll admit to being quite the geek contrarian. I never read the original Watchmen book, and quite frankly was disappointed in 300, which had a similar level of geek excitement. The last trailer, with the use of a frankly horrible Smashing Pumpkins song originally from the movie Batman & Robin (not the most wise association for a comic movie) had me convinced Watchmen was nothing to get worked up about.
This trailer hasn’t quite sold me on the film yet, but if you’re already excited, then you’ll go nuts. It is a much better trailer and actually contains hints at the story, which is nothing I got from the old ones.
A brand new trailer for the newest James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace (break out your dictionaries kiddies!) has been released for all to see via the wonders of the web. The first trailer debuted during the run of Batman: The Dark Knight.
We’ve got the newest trailer from “Batman: Dark Knight”, coming this summer. This one seems to be the longest of the trailers we’ve seen thus far, and has a couple of perhaps spoilerific hints as to some of the more hush-hush details of the flick, including some prelude shots that reveal the ‘grittier’ details of Gotham District Attorney Harvey Dent.
The scenes are oh-so delicious. This movie will be well worth the wait.
