IGN had a slick new trailer for Platinum Games’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan. The trailer showed off lots of boss battles including peaks at Bebop, Rocksteady, Slash, Karai, Shredder and even Krang! The end of the trailer also gave us a release date of May 24th, 2016. Thats just a few short months away.
The game will be available on PS3, PS4, XBox 360, XBox One and PC.

We’re on the verge of counting down to revealing the next phase of this podcast. It was a natural evolution that we put even less work into the show than we did prior!
One of the goals behind the revamp was to perform shorter shows with a quicker turn around time. So this one is an hour still and two days late. Trust me, it gets better.
Special thanks to Sarah Rattle.

MTVGeek tweeted a picture of the forthcoming second wave of the TMNT Classics line consisting of Bebop and Rocksteady. While, we’ve known for about a week that Wave 2 would consist of this pair, we have not previously seen any images of them.
I was uneasy that the figures would be based more heavily on the original action figures than their portrayals in the cartoon. Thankfully, that is definitely not the case. Rocksteady even comes with the army helmet that we really only see for the first few episodes of the series. I was lukewarm on the first wave’s turtles, but these two have me sold pretty solidly. I do hope that we see a trash can lid shield like the one packaged originally for Bebop.

SDCC 2012 is just a few short days away. The news should be starting to flow even sooner than that thanks to preview night and all the companies trying to steal each other’s thunder. To start the festivities for Powet.TV’s coverage we have put together a rather extensive checklist of exclusives available at the convention. There are over a hundred images in this post of cool things you can find at the con, but there may still be some gaps. If you see any, add it in the comments!
Join us after the jump for plenty of exclusive goodness!

Oh good! Another 68 minutes of podcasting!
In this week’s excursion, Zac tackles the moral dilema of Superman VS The Elite, Adam gets a Gravity Rush off some Red Bull, and Captain Genius offers a counter-point to Lollipop Chainsaw.
After all that we chat about Michael Bay’s TMNT movie, Hans Zimmer, Disney’s next move with the Avengers cartoons, and how one troll fooled a dozen comic blogs (us included).

According to the Hollywood Reporter, pre-production has been shut down on the Ninja Turtles movie reboot. Staff involved with pre-production have been temporarily let go. The movie, itself, has not been cancelled, but has been moved out from December 2013 to a May 2014 release. A weak script is said to be the problem.
Considering the fan outcry that resulted when the revelation surfaced the Turtles would be aliens in this film, I cannot make myself seem surprised by this. It should be stressed that this has nothing to do with that fan outcry, but working with such a foreign concept to such an established brand could not come without it’s own challenges. Not to mention the stigma associated with Michael Bay and reboots, as his company, Platinum Dunes, is set to be producing the film.
This is the third film Paramount has delayed for various reasons. GI Joe: Retaliation and World War Z were both recently pushed out. The TMNT franchise was acquired by Nickelodeon in October of 2009. Nickelodeon and Paramount are both subsidiaries of giant media umbrella corporation, Viacom. The film was set to reinvigorate Nickelodeon after poor recent ratings. All parties involved still hope to accomplish that in May 2014.

Welcome to the Powet Top 5, where we explore the top (and bottom) 5 items we think are relevant to any of a variety of topics that span the imagination. Sit back, read, and respond
I know that when I write these articles that they tend to get on pretty niche topics. This time around I think I have outdone myself on niche-ness. If you were born any time after 1975, you should know of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their wonderful initial toy line from Playmates in the early 90’s. If you collect toys, you should absolutely know of the Four Horsemen. You should also have heard of the Four Horsemen’s FANtastic Exclusive endeavor and the property it spawned, The Seventh Kingdom. In today’s article, we are going to draw some parallels between the properties. Read on after the jump to learn more!
