Today, we have two more entries in the PowetToys category. These are quick looks at very basic figures with no audio. These do not replace full reviews, but are a way to give some attention to figures that just don’t have as much to talk about as those that get the full review treatment. Above we have Transformers Universe (2008) Autobot Hound. These came out just after the first movie’s toy line ran its course, if memory serves correctly. I am really loving these shorts. Hasbro’s KRE-O construction block brand has put up another video on youtube. This time its a talent show spoof done in stop motion animation. Enjoy!

Transformers Vault went on sale today. Don’t know what that is? Well, its a book that Hasbro has been teasing us about for almost a year now. With some exclusive access to some Hasbro resources that have not yet seen the light of day, the book is sure to be a must-find for Transformers fans. Don’t believe me? Like many Transformers fans, I headed to the stores on May 16 to see the release of the first wave of figures for the third live action movie. I intended to only buy 1, maybe 2… but once I was in store, it was hard not to grab 3. This video is a quick look at Powerglide, Deluxe Starscream, and Voyager Megatron.

Something I didn’t mention in the video: Megatron and the other voyagers are quite small. The price point is lower than its been in previous years (around $19), but these figures are exactly in the scale of the “Mega” size class used popularized in the Beast Wars era. That size was abandoned as of Armada. Megatron appears to be about the same size as Transmetal Megatron from Beast Wars.

I don’t know if you recall, but I hated War For Cybertron Optimus Prime. Does Megatron fair any better? Let hope so.
