With the animated Doctor Strange DVD approaching its release date (August 18th, available for standard DVD format preorder here, and in Blu-Ray format here), there’s a ton of information available on it already. KidsWB released a promo image for the Spider-Man cartoon debuting this fall. The show was previously going to be called The Amazing Spider-Man, but with the Spidey comic line getting stripped down to that one title, the cartoon’s name was just changed to Spectacular Spider-Man. I imagine there’ll be a comic book tie-in to the show of the same name, which would explain the change of the show’s name. Not like they’re about to change the book’s name, right?

Also, Wizard took a bunch of pictures at the New York Licensing Show which – while it doesn’t sound very interesting – resulted in some impressive shots. We’ve got a select few mirrored below – and be sure to keep an eye out for an old Amazing Spider-Man cartoon poster:

Superman Doomsday – Official Trailer

Nothing terribly surprising in the trailer, but the link above has an interesting synopsis if you click through:

When Lexcorp accidentally unearths the intergalactic serial killer Doomsday, Superman battles the creature head on in the fight of his life…literally. The world collectively mourns their fallen hero; humanity realizes it will never feel truly safe again. Superman’s enemies rejoice – all but Lex Luthor, who grieves the loss in his own demented manner, setting off a chilling chain of events that even he couldn’t have foreseen.

Sounds like Luthor’s taking a major role this time around, which is a nice change of pace from orange-maned Luthor in the comics. That was a little weird to me, as I wasn’t too well-versed in DC lore when the story originally came out.

A pretty awesome video went up on YouTube yesterday:

It’s not terribly heavy on story, but technically this video is a marvel. The opening sequence is excellent (looks like it took longer to do than the rest of the “episode”), and the cinematography and sounds effects are definitely top-notch. (I just wish the voices were better…)

I definitely want to see more of this. If you like it too, we can make a point if letting you know when new episodes are available, but I’d definitely recommend telling the creator directly and/or subscribing to their videos!

One is the alter-ego of Andy Kaufman, one is the evil menace from Snake Mountain. Together they duet a variation on a popular song.

Here’s the trailer for Lucasfilms’ new Clone Wars show. Yep.

Sure looks nice. I guess. Didn’t this show already come out? Oh yeah, it was way back in 2004. I notice some repeat sets, repeat characters, probably repeat events. I know George is fond of Special Editions but did he have to go and order a remake of the only good Star Wars to be commited to the screen this decade? Some 30th Anniversary!
