Sensing this news couldn’t wait until 11 pm tonight, Team Coco has posted the above clip from tonight’s show a full 2 hours before air time.

In it, Will Ferrell reprises the role of Ron Burgundy from his 2004 star making film, “Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy” and after playing some jazz flute an insulting Conan, he announces Paramount Pictures has agreed to finally make a sequel. For several years, director Adam McKay and Ferrell had been trying to get a follow up made, but couldn’t get a deal in spite of the cult status of the character.

Other stars from “Anchorman” such as Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate, and Steve Carell have gone on to much greater success since the 2004, and Will Ferrell has become one of the most powerful men in comedy. Given McKay and Carell also hyped this appearance on twitter, it is likely that most of the cast and crew will reunite for the sequel.
