Kwik-E-Mart May Replace 7-11

kwikemart.jpg
As a massive promotion for The Simpsons Movie this summer, 7-11 has agreed to full convert 11 of its stores in the US into replicas of the infamous Kwik-E-Mart.

MTV Reports a 7-11 spokesperson refused to confirm or deny, but apparently it was revealed in a company event last week. The stores will take on the appearance of Kwik-E-Mart, serve Squishies and other popular Simpsons food. I can only pray this happens and I can get a Duff Beer. Or an appearance from Duff Man!

Thanks Robbie!

Spider-Man 3 Images

Spider-Man 3 - Sandman
Film Ick has been rocking the Spider-Man 3 images over the past couple days. You can find some set shots and “New Goblin” design images here, and – more interestingly – they also have Gwen Stacy and Sandman images here, which we’ve mirrored for your viewing pleasure:

Sonic VS Mario… At the Olympics?

mariosonic.jpg
The video game crossover you’ve waited your entire life for is now a reality.

Mario and Sonic will finally compete on the Wii and Nintendo DS… on a game licensed by the Olympics.

I’m speechless. Official site is up. If we don’t get Sonic in Smash Bros now, I’ll be real mad.

Here He Comes, Here Comes Speed Racer…

Speed Racer
Elisha Cuthbert... and some guy…He’s a demon on wheels. In the upcoming Wachowski film, Speed will be played by Emile Hirsch. You may have recently seen him in “Alpha Dog” or “Lords of Dogtown,” if you happen to watch movies that I don’t. But to me he’ll always be the “Girl Next Door.” Not that I saw that either. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve actually seen him in anything.

Want to know the best response I’ve read to this? “Well, he’s got the eyebrows.

Iron Man Movie Filming Updates

Iron Man Movie
About a week back Jon Favreau announced that he’d finished the first week of filming, and that he was “looking forward to getting out of the ‘cave.’ The first few weeks of shooting are spent, somewhat in sequence, establishing Stark’s captivity. It sets the table tonally for the rest of the film.”

ScreenRant.com recently updated with some photos from the exterior of this “cave” set, and we’ve got a couple of them mirrored here to give you an idea of what it looks like.

The worst kept secret in gaming is now official.

Xbox 360 Elite is black with an HDMI port and 120 GB hard drive standard. It’ll be released April 29th for $479.99. Black extra controllers, battery packs, and charging cables will be available at the same price as the current white accessories. The 120 GB hard drive will be sold seperately for $179 and will include a cable to transfer your saves info from your old drive to your new one.

Gamestop will likely offer you $8 for your old Xbox 360.

Engadget has more info and press photos of the newly black box and controllers.

GameStop Sales Top $5 Billion

gamestop.jpg
The store that offers you $10 for a game they’ll sell for $40. The store that asks you buy a strategy guide and a subscription to GameInformer with every purchase. The store that berates you for not pre-ordering.

They took in $5 Billion last year.

I want you to think about that the next time that pimply pencilneck clerk tries to sell you an opened game at full price.

LEGO Batman in 2008

legobatmanrogues.jpg
Back in September I said the next LEGO game and the next Batman game were going to be one and the same.

Today the news is official. Warner Bros Interactive will publish and Traveller’s Tales will develop LEGO Batman for all consoles and PC.

Thankfully, they promise to maintain some of the elements that made LEGO Star Wars great, namely the co-op multiplayer as Batman and Robin, along with Free Play using unlocked secret characters. At last, The Joker will be playable in a video game!

Full Press Release follows. [Read the rest of this entry…]
