It’s not easy being green in the entertainment industry, yet suddenly everyone is trying it. We talk about how video game sequels are superior to other kinds of sequels, specifically the sequel-du-jour Mass Effect 2

Marvel continues to tease our palettes as of late.
Following up on their news of Heroic Age, the House of Ideas is now posting more teaser images of an upcoming X-Men crossover event called Second Coming which will debut in March 2010. The story will feature Hope’s return to the present. The images feature taglines of ‘One will lead them’, ‘One will die’, and ‘One will rise’. The ‘One will Rise’ image is featuring two versions of Hope, the mutant messiah, now in her late teens. She was the mutant baby from the Messiah CompleX storyline a couple years back. The issues of Cable have featured her and Cable prominently as they jump across time to flee Bishop who is desperate to kill Hope and prevent whatever heinous event she triggered in his future’s past. Catch all that? Well the kicker is that one of the two versions of Hope here looks like she is host to the Phoenix force and not in the good way.
Apparently this event was announced at the Diamond Summit ’09 that took place at the beginning of the last quarter for 2009. Marvel.com has a great article on it here. I suspect there will be more teaser images revealed, but this was the first I had heard of the crossover event and I was immediately interested. The adventures in Cable have been great and I look forward to what happens next.

The magical developers of the insane animated adventures Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers have unveiled their next game bound for Xbox Live Arcade.
The Behemoth call it “A story about friendship, betrayal, and a whole truck load of cats” and give it the title BattleBlock Theater.
Having made the craziest side scrolling shooter and the craziest 4 player brawler they now turn to platform action. Hopefully it will arrive in time for summer so we can enjoy air conditioned online fun as we did the last 2 summers with their games.
What, you don’t have their first two games? Get off your butt!

A few years ago Powet.tv reported on Jason David Frank bailing on an MMA match but yesterday he finally made his Mixed Martial Arts debut and currently stands undefeated. Also known as Tommy Oliver, the Green Power Ranger, the White Power Ranger and some other things in latter lesser incarnations of the show, this once superhero didn’t even need to morph in order to take care of opponent Jonathan Mack leading fans to believe the competitor was on par with your run of the mill Putty Patroller.

Marvel.com has posted a new teaser clip of the forthcoming straight-to-dvd feature, Planet Hulk. The clip features the beginning of the first fight between the Hulk and the Red King in the arena. I was excited for this having read the fantastic story in trade paperback form, but the quality of the animation has me even more stoked. The initial Marvel Animated DVD offerings were shaky at best, but there has been noticable and steady improvement with each one. If you cannot wait for this DVD’s release, I would suggest checking out the last DVD feature from the House of Ideas, Hulk Vs or picking up the Planet Hulk trade paperback. The animated Planet Hulk comes out this week on February 2nd.
