Welcome to the Powet Top 5, where we explore the top (and bottom) 5 items we think are relevant to any of a variety of topics that span the imagination. Sit back, read, and respond.
If you’re reading this, then you already know that the world didn’t end back in December (f course if you were smart, you knew it wasn’t gonna end anyway). That’s a very good thing. Not only do you get to stay alive a lot longer, but there are some very awesome things coming this year. Several new gadgets and gizmos are hitting the block for gamers (including the PS4 and Xbox 720 is rumors hold true), several awesome movies are hitting theaters, and most importantly, several new games are coming out within these next twelve months. This past January has seen the release of the Devil May Cry reboot and the sure-to-be classic JRPG Ni No Kuni, but there are even more awesome titles hitting systems this year. Here are just 5 of the most anticipated.

The newest animated feature coming from DC Entertainment is Superman Unbound. We see Superman and Supergirl taking on Brainiac with lots of backstory concerning Brainiac’s attack on Krypton and the disappearance of its capital city, Kandor. The story is loosely based on the 2008 Action Comics plotline written by Geoff Johns.
The movie is due out later this year and will feature Matt Bomer as Superman, Molly Quinn as Supergirl, John Noble as Braniac and Stana Katic as Lois Lane.
Looks pretty interesting to me. I am happy to see the clear reference to Independence Day in the trailer.

A new trailer has surfaced for DC Entertainment’s new game INJUSTICE: Gods Among Us. This game is being done by Netherrealm, the same studio behind Mortal Kombat. This fighter features some of DC’s most well known characters including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Lex Luthor and many many more. This trailer gives us a little more insight into the story of the game. It has a very Crime Syndicate feel to it where all the heroes are more or less villains. The game will be coming out on April, 16th 2013.
I am definitely looking forward to it.

It’s that time of year again where we patiently wait for the unveiling of each of the Botcon box set exclusives to be revealed until registration goes on sale before we see all of them and quickly sells out. The theme this year for the box set is Machine Wars. This was a very short lived line from 1997 that was really only available at Kay-Bee Toys stores.
Today we get a look at Hoist. Hoist was a basic figure in the line. He was a tow truck that looked a little more like a dump track with a hook on the back of it. Fun Publications has chosen to use the Generations Kup mold with a retooled head for this figure. The image seen is just a mock-up and not the actual figure, so our mileage is likely to vary, but as far as robot mode goes, it looks pretty good. The head is pretty spot on and I’m pleased with the translation from the original figure. The color scheme is very basic, so it matches pretty well. I imagine they saved some money on paint apps for this figure so they can lavish some other figure in the line. I don’t think the vehicle mode is a good match. Kup is a pickup, whereas Hoist is supposed to be a tow truck. He’s not really hoisting anything, though. He’s more hauling than anything else.
What do you think of Hoist? Tell us in the comments and help us speculate what other figures could be coming in this set!

MTVGeek tweeted a picture of the forthcoming second wave of the TMNT Classics line consisting of Bebop and Rocksteady. While, we’ve known for about a week that Wave 2 would consist of this pair, we have not previously seen any images of them.
I was uneasy that the figures would be based more heavily on the original action figures than their portrayals in the cartoon. Thankfully, that is definitely not the case. Rocksteady even comes with the army helmet that we really only see for the first few episodes of the series. I was lukewarm on the first wave’s turtles, but these two have me sold pretty solidly. I do hope that we see a trash can lid shield like the one packaged originally for Bebop.
Let us know in the comments what you think!

This past weekend I caught up with Terri Hawkes at G-Anime 2013 in Gatineau Quebec for this interview. Terri Hawkes provided the voice of Sailor Moon for most of the first two seasons of the show.
Thanks a lot to Terri Hawkes and the organizers of G-Anime for making this interview the best it could be.
