With EA sports in firm hold of the AFL, NFL, NCAA football, and just about any other conceivable real-life football alternative, similar fears were held about other sports, namely Basketball. Thankfully, the NBA realizes it can get more of a profit by having NBA Live, NBA 2k, and Sony’s NBA on shelves as well as arcade styled hoops games such as NBA street, and more notably, this 2004 entry from Midway.

One time, I saw a TV commercial for Guitar Hero II. In that commercial, two young men are shown playing different controllers side-by-side. One hero holds the Cherry version of the SG controller, which has been available through various means since the original Guitar Hero game came out, and is now commonly bundled with Guitar Hero II. The other player is shown holding a strangely-shaped white and black guitar that I’d never heard of before, and never heard of again until I saw it at my local Target store.

With the second series of Stargate SG-1 action figures shipping to stores, we’re pleased to officially announce the debut series of Stargate Atlantis action figures featuring Lt. Col. A somewhat reluctant addition to the Atlantis expedition, Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard has proven himself to be a resourceful and fiercely loyal member of their team. His quick thinking and unconventional tactics are combined with uncanny instincts and an out-of-this-world sense of humor to create a leader prepared for any situation. Not to be underestimated, Dr. Elizabeth Weir was selected to command the Atlantis team after her negotiation skills impressed the military brass. Wired reports: Firefly Reborn as Online Universe.

I know fans are itching for more of this quickly cancelled TV cult fave. So I’ll put it up to you: is this a bad idea or a terrible idea?

Scott Kurtz is taking a huge risk by turning PvP into an animated series with subscription based revenue model. And although I’m not 100% sold by this preview, I am however sold on the idea and will hand him my $20.

Kurtz spoke to Comic Book Resources recently and I’m totally with him wanting to do this on his own rather than letting someone Hollywood buy it and he loses control. Who knows, if it gets popular enough, he may be able to write his own distribution deal for TV and DVDs…

In the last few days we’ve unveiled the first look at Scorponok in the movie and Barricade as a toy. I’m happy to report we have the reverse now.

Harbx has posted a wallpaper of Barricade. Its very nicely done, but I can’t help being bothered that maybe they cut some of the model off to make it look nice as a desktop image for a computer.

Infamous Hong Kong ebay seller SPX Toys has an auction for Scorponok. He’s not as monochrome as we thought, but may win the battle for ugliest face.
