E3 kicks off next week with press conferences starting as early as Next Sunday. However, we already have the skinny on a game that might be making an appearance. A site called thisgengaming is reporting that Capcom Vancouver is developing Dead Rising 4, which looks to be a remake of the original Dead Rising, albeit with a Christmas theme. If rumors are to be believed, the game will feature online features, co-op, and Unreal Engine 4 graphics. The game is believed to be an Xbox One/Windows 10 exclusive our website. We’ll likely learn more next week at E3.

Project X Zone 2: Brave New World, the mega crossover featuring characters from Capcom, Namco Bandai, and Sega was featured this past week at the Tokyo Game Show, and several new characters were revealed. Chrom and Lucina from Fire Emblem Awakening join the cast, which now means that we could be seeing characters who aren’t originally from a Capcom, Sega, or Namco game. Also, Fiora from Xenoblade Chronicles joins Kos-Mos to form a team. These 4 characters will join characters such as Pheonix Wright, Leon Kennedy, and Jill Valentine as just a few of the many playable characters in Project X Zone 2. SNK/Playmore showed off a teaser for the upcoming KOF XIV at this past week’s TGS. Little is known about the game save for the fact it will be adapting a 2.5D presentation a’la Street Fighter 4. Although SNK’s previous efforts in 3D haven’t exactly been anything to write home about, hopefully they’ll get it right for KOF XIV. It’s heading to PS4 sometime in 2016, although it’s unsure as to whether it’s exclusive. KOF XII and XIII have both gone multiplatform with the latter receiving a PC port, so I’d be surprised if this was a console exclusive. We’ll have more TGS news throughout the rest of the week and into the weekend.

ToyNewsInternational is reporting that Mattel’s presence at SDCC will be marked by the acquisition of the Thundercats toy license. Mattel has figures to show off based on the classic cartoon in scale with MOTU Classics figures. Lion-O and Vulture have, reportedly been sighted on the floor at SDCC.

Bandai last had the license in 2011, accompanying a failed reboot of the cartoon series on Cartoon Network. With MOTU Classics supposedly winding down this year, Mattel needs another big franchise to supplement MattyCollector. It sounds like they have found that in Thundercats.

Yesterday Afternoon, EA and UbiSoft both held conferences on their upcoming plans.. Most of what the two companies showed was already known before E3, they simply went more into depth with what they had. Of course, like Sony and Microsoft, there were a few surprises as well. We meant to have this sooner, but we got hit with some technical difficulties. We’ll have Nintendo and Square-Enix up here early tomorrow. Last night, Sony held its big press conference. Sony, along with various third party developers, had quite a few surprises this year. Sony showed off a lot of console exclusives, or at least timed exclusives, ending with gameplay footage from Uncharted 4. So what’s with the picture of Ryo Hazuki? During the conference, Yu Suzuki announced his desire to create Shenmue 3 on PC and PS4. However, if fans wanted it, they’d have to help fund it by way of a Kickstarter that went up during the show. The Kickstarter reached $1 million within 9 hours and as of this morning, is close to 2.5 Million. It’s safe to say, fans will finally be seeing the last installment to the Shenmue Trilogy. There were more amazing things that came out of the press conference as well. While I’m not gonna go over everything, below are the bigger footnotes.

As you know, next week is E3, the wonderful time of the year where we get hyped up for games that we won’t see for at least another 4 months. We can only guess what surprises that Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, along with several major publishers and developers will have in store for gamers this year. However, today sees a couple of huge potential leaks: One, being a cel-shaded Transformers brawler and the other being new DLC for Smash Brothers. Unless and until they are confirmed at E3, these two rumors should only be taken as little more than speculation, even if we have screenshots.
