Trailer hit the web today.
Most of my dismay for this movie is based completely on behind the scenes snooping from spies of questionable accuracy of authority. Regardless, the trailer for the movie looks really good, and I hope the movie is good too. Still, I can’t wrap my head around certain characters changes or dying altogether. If this is “The Last Stand” then I guess its ok….

Another fantastic rap video from SNL, this time starring Natalie Portman.

Instant classic.

I really wanted one of these, until I saw it.

I’ve never been huge on GI Joe, and the new Sigma 6 line doesn’t irk me like a lot of hard core 12″ or 3 3/4″ fans.  I figured I’d wait until I saw the new Cobra Commander figure and buy it, like I’ve done with the last few lines.

Since I don’t make it into the toy aisles as much as I’d like, and still hadn’t seen him, I just did a search on Hasbro’s official toy show.

Wow.  What a dog turd. Oddly enough, if they gave him a new head, colored him yellow and called the toy Serpentor, I’d be all over it.  I’m funny that way.

According to their official site, the first single from Pearl Jam’s eigth studio album will be a free MP3 available for download on March 8th. This is a pretty incredible news for fans of the band, but also a boon for the future of online music promotion. When Tom Petty released a single to mp3.com several years ago, his record company freaked out and it had to be removed. Its not uncommon for an up and coming band to slap some tracks on a myspace account to get some buzz, but Pearl Jam is a band that could easily sell the song on iTunes and keep the money. Here’s hoping its a success and more follow suit.

Eau Claire, WI will once again play host to No Brand Con, but something cool this time around is the expanded focus on gaming. Attendees are encouraged to bring their DS, theres multiple game rooms this time, and they’ve snagged Vinnk from 4 Color Rebellion as a guest with a 4CR meetup scheduled. I’d suggest a powet.tv meet-up as well, but I already know a bunch of people going, so we’ll all just hang out like one big geek family.

Kotaku’s surreal coverage of the DS Lite launch must be read to be beleived.  Frankly, if you’re going to have to get up that early and wait in line, it might as well be with some down-to-earth weirdos you can alternately converse with and examine with zoo-like fascination.

Only launch I ever attended was the US Dreamcast.  Only 2 of us there, but we still had a good time.
