Famicom Dojo Podcast: Game of the Year of Luigi

It’s been a long time since I’ve tuned in, but it was good to here you guys again.

Sean, I totally get your feelings about Link Between Worlds. I haven’t played LttP quite as much as you so I didn’t have the same “been there, done that” feeling about it, but I do wish they didn’t stick so close to the original’s map. I think the biggest surprise I had playing the game was that two of the Dark World dungeons locations were switched.

Vinnk, I don’t know who you’re talking to, but the fact that you can go to the dungeons out of order is one of the best parts. There is kinda a scaling difficulty curve in that Light World dungeons are less complicated than the Lorule dungeons, but most of them are around the same difficulty level. However, since you can rent the items they can design them with the assumption you’ll have the item the entire time instead of getting them halfway through, So in a dungeon that requires the Ice Rod, there will be puzzles that use it from the get go.

Also, I had a total “d’aaaahhhhhhh” moment when Vinnk’s daughter interrupted the podcast.
