I got a Dreamcast on launch day, and bought no less than 5 games in the first month. �It didn’t really trade on any of their previous success (outside of Sonic) and instead launched new series like Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, 2K sports, Powerstone, etc.

Re: The CD Player- I didn’t have a CD player in the upstairs room at my Dad’s house, so when I bought Jay-Z’s “Vol 3. The Life & Times Of Sean Carter” I listened to it the first time on my Dreamcast through the TV.

I loved Sega consoles, I remember way back me and my�cousins�sitting around a TV at my Nan’s taking turns playing Alex Kidd and Castle of Illusion on the Master System or going round my best friend from primary school, Sam Hare, an we played, mainly, Sonic 1 on his Mega Drive. I think the Mega Drive is still my favourite system as I have so many memories with it, playing Sonic 2, 3 and Knuckles or Shining Force over another very good friend’s. I, unfortunately, didn’t get a Dreamcast until after it had practically died because friends all had Playstations and the like and Sega kinda hurt me by not releasing a new Sonic on the Saturn so I figured I’d move to Sony so that we could all play the same stuff and things like that. I do really miss Sega consoles though as I loved the Sonic Adventure games and I just wish that I had gotten a DC earlier so that my local game store had more games for it, by the time I had one they had like two shelves for DC, it was quite depressing.

So yeah my Sega history, but on the topic of the X-Box being very Dreamcast like I thought it was common-ish�knowledge�that Sega and Microsoft worked together for some time way back to when the Dreamcast was released and�possibly�worked together a little on the X-Box, maybe it’s the reason that the first was so much more stable than the second for quite some time.

I’m biased if Sega were still doing consoles I’d say that there next one would be the best of that generation so I’m not really a good one to give an�opinion�on that, but maybe us Sega fan-boys are the best to give opinions on which console is better in the current generations as we’ve got�no one�to be biased towards, lol.

The VMU used CR2032 if I recall correctly(yup, googled it), and I remember being upset at how short the battery life was.� I don’t think I got any Chao stuff actually done.

An abbreviated Sega history: We borrowed a Genesis from my cousin and played Spider-man and Afterburner before we got our own, my brother had a Gamegear, then we got a 32x, rented a Saturn once to prepare for a Virtua Fighter Tournament which I actually won.� My brother got a Dreamcast.� Soul Calibur, Sea man, Powerstone, Sonic Adventure, Typing of the Dead are all fondly remembered.� I also recall Ikaruga (which I later got on Gamecube) and a Godzilla game that never came over here somehow.

Yup, It was Billy Hatcher. �I looked it up right after the podcast. �I remember Nintendo and Sega really hyping that one. �They even had it on a demo disc (one of the only gamecube demo discs ever). �But after it came out and made no impact whatsoever Sega kind of swept it under the rug. �I wonder if it was any good?

I kinda remember it being sort of frustrating and difficult to control, as you would expect rolling around an egg would be.� I mainly remember Billy Hatcher because of the unlockables for Feel The Magic XY/XX on DS.

Vinnk said the PocketStation was before the Dreamcast. I feel like I should point out that the PocketStation came out in January of 1999, while the Dreamcast launched in November 1998.

You my friend are correct. �I guess I was confused because I saw one in America (a friend imported) before the US launch of the Dreamcast. �Thank you for clearing that up. �I love all our smart listeners. 🙂

I� think the only gripe i have about the dreamcast is that the drive keeps scrating my games when i put them in and out, if only the door opens more would be so much of a problem, got be careful handling games. I think the death of the dreamcast was a sum of a bunch of things. Saturns failure in america, the no copy protection, ps2 having a dvd drive been the most inexpensive dvd player at the time, and probably some people could point some more.

I think you guys should do one on the sega saturn, i really love that machine, getting a bunch of games for it. and thinking aiming for a full collection( i screwd i know). But theres anot good theme for the podcast, colecionism.

I probably wrote a bunch o things wrong bunch i dont feel like trying to correct everything right now, so pardon my english, im not a native speaker as you can cleary see
