Never one to disappoint with a display, Mattel had a huge statue of Prince Adam to show since he is this year’s exclusive ‘accessory’ to Orko. The big panel for MOTU is not until Saturday as far as I know. After the panel, I will update this post with any new information that will be revealed and there will be new information revealed.

Here’s what we know. Whiplash, Carnivus and Grizzlor are on display. There was a small somewhat blurry picture taken of a card that may or may not have accidentally been put out before anything was announced. It showed 6 characters names we have not previously seen on the slate for release with a release month for each. Those are as follows:
October – Roboto
November – Grizzlor
December – Buzz-Off
January – Bow
February – Vikor
March – King Hsss

Count me as super excited about Roboto and super perplexed by Vikor. Anyone know who he is? Post in the comments with links or info!
Bow is the male character from She-Ra that wasn’t a bad guy. Glad to see that some other series’ are still getting attention, but I’d like to see more.
Also on display was a very nice Silver She-Ra. Similar to the Spirit of King Grayskull figure, it is super limited to a total of two and one will be given away to a lucky attendee via a raffle for charity. On a lighter note, Mattel had some Moss Man deodorant. I’m not sure if that was a freebie or what it was aside from highly amusing.

Action Figure Pics had a very nice MOTU gallery here from Preview Night.
Michael Crawford had a nice gallery of closeups on the 3 upcoming displayed figures here.

Images of She-Ra and Deodorant are mirrored from ActionFigurePics.com.
Images of Carnivus, Gygor, Grizzlor and Whiplash are mirrored from Michael Crawford‘s site.

Troop Builder 2-packs
There will be a forthcoming troop builder 2-pack of Palace Guards that look quite spectacular. Between the two, there are four interchangable heads. One head is white, one is black, another looks animal like, and the last looks snake-man like. There are also face sheilds for the helmets, 2 halberds, 1 axe, 1 mace, 2 shields, and both figure’s armor is done in the style of Battle Armor He-man with a total of 4 interchangable plates with different symbols on them (Private and Lieutenant). This 2-pack looks loaded and I can’t to get my hands on it. The image below is mirrored from ActionFigurePics.com. UPDATE: Looks like the white head should look familiar.

TRU Exclusive DCUC vs MOTUC 2-packs
DCUC vs MOTU 2-pack seem to be a hit because three more were announced.
Mer-Man vs. Aquaman
Stratos vs. Hawkman
Trapjaw vs. Metallo or Cyborg Superman (still being decided)

Stands
Castle Grayskull action figure stands will return in Quarter 1. Not much to that announcement

Dioramas
I saw this mentioned somewhere but I have no idea what it means. Small dioramas will be on sale in Quarter 2. Take that how you will.
Accessory Packs
The Great Wars Accessory Pack was announced to be coming in November. It featured some nice stuff including:
Roboto arm attachments in Trap-Jaw black colors (looks compatible with him too)
Gold (200x) colored Mer-Man armor and accessories
Orange Axe and Shield for Faker
Purple Evil-Lynn accessories (Wand, Staff, Dagger)
Green Perch and Zoar Armor
Black and Purple Optikk gun and shield
Repainted She-Ra sword
Repainted Whiplash weapon

Oversized Creatures
The next oversized creature was announced. Following Battle Cat, Tytus and Gygor will be a Shadow Beast. Looks to be using the same sculpt as Gygor with new hands, feet and head. It has an enormous club accessory. This is a generic creature that I have a feeling a lot of collectors will want multiples of for display purposes. Its a bit like a troop builder pack of one.

Vehicles
Vehicles were mentioned in the panel. There might be one next year in Quarter 4, but they wouldn’t say what it is. Fortunately for us, there were some pictures taken by IzdaWiz of the FANtasticExclusive board from the Four Horsemen’s booth. It is the Battle Ram. The thread with the pictures can be seen here. The Four Horsemen responded to a question about it with:

That’s ours. We created that to present to Mattel just to see what the possibilities of doing a vehicle might be. Like it? Let Mattel know & you may get it!

Result of SDCC MOTUC Panel Poll
The subject of this year’s SDCC panel poll was whether Swiftwind, She-Ra’s horse, should be pink like the toy or white like the cartoon. Thankfully common sense won and Swiftwind will be white by a vote of 2-1. The subject of last year’s poll was whether Panthor’s first release should be flocked or not. Non-flocked won.
