“I swear to god I had a thought…” HAHAHA

That actually turned out a lot more coherent than I remember it. And I didn’t realize it was so long! Makes me want to see the movie again…

But seriously, GREAT review! It covered all the things I’ve been thinking about the film, but I did kinda want Spock’s romance with Uhura explored a bit more, and also the ramifications of the destruction of Vulcan… I mean, While I agree we don’t need to see Khan again, it’s not unreasonable to assume that many of the same situations that occurred during the original series episodes will happen again, including both visits with the Khan character, the latter of which resulting in the death of Spock. …Only this time, no Mount Selaya to “climb the steps” of to bring him back! …Is the location itself what is needed to resurrect him, as opposed to just the mind meld and the ritual, et al? We may never know. But, insofar as “knowing what will happen” being bad for prequels, not knowing is driving me significantly more crazy about it all, and is the one thing coloring my otherwise very positive outlook of this film.

Who knows, maybe they actually *could* revisit the Khan character, if it was done TERRIBLY carefully? …Nearly all directors who think things like that and attempt to take on the task find it inevitably too big for them to handle correctly (at least as far as the fans are concerned), but JJ seems to have shown he can honor the franchise.

In closing, I must say that I, as a completely non-comic geek, am very interested to get my hands on a copy of the comic however I can, and that I’m also very anxious to see the next film I’ve heard is in the discussion stages. Thanks for the review guys!
