Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead

Heath Ledger, star of Brokeback Mountain and the forthcoming The Dark Knight has died.

According to the New York City Police Department, Heath Ledger was found dead from a drug overdose in his apartment in downtown Manhattan. Foul play is not suspected. Not much information is currently available, CNN is following the story.

Much has been said of the decision to cast Ledger as the Joker and recent clips and photos have had fans of Batman overwhelmingly excited. As this will likely be his final finished screen performance, I hope the role does the character and actor justice.

Heavy. He’s barely a year older than me.

I seriously hope this was a bad reaction to sleeping pills or something of the sort and not another stupid incident of an actor overdosing trying to get high.

Apparently it was Mary Kate Olson’s apartment, and not his. It was weird how they reported it was his, then changed their minds. Now all I hear is “an” apartment and “a” housekeeper, rather than “his”.

And they found him naked in bed with pills strewn about? Seriously? I wonder what the toxicology report will say — something about this doesn’t seem right.

From what I’ve heard, they were prescription pills. This could very well be an accidental overdose or bad-reaction to something else he took.

Or….maybe he had an onset of something suddenly, went for pills to try and help stop/contain whatever it was, and spilled them about. Could explain why he was naked in bed…maybe just got out of the shower and panicked?

Either way, I honestly hope it was just an accident…..though that’s still a very sh*tty way of dying when you’re about to release a major blockbuster.
