Futurama Returns November 27

Amazingly, ComiCon is not all movie trailers, toy prototypes, and video game news. Theres also TV news! Well and comics, but I’m talking about TV here. Specifically a TV show thats been off the air far too long: FUTURAMA.

Thanks to the outstanding fan demand, Fox and Comedy Central are bringing the classic back in the form of 4 straight to DVD movies, which will be cut up into a full season of 16 shows for Comedy Central.

The first movie, Bender’s Big Score, will be released on DVD and on Blu-Ray Disc November 27th.

Yeah. I don’t understand people who keep saying Futurama wasn’t on long enough. I enjoy the show and all but it was on for a really long time considering just how unpopular it was. I really don’t see how bringing it back is a good idea. They wrapped things up pretty well and it’s not the type of show that lends itself well to a movie format. It just reminds me of the Reboot movies.

Fuck the haters, Futurama is a great show. It didn’t lat too long, the problem is that it didn’t last long enough so when it wa shown in syndication there was only a little over 80 episodes to show over and over again.

Since I watch DVR’d content about 90% of the time, I haven’t had the opportunity to make myself sick of Futurama, and I find any disapproval freakish and surprising.

Not that I should find freakish disapproval surprising from this crew anymore. Worst critical collective ever!

Futurama was The Simpsons of the 31st century! If there’s anyone out there who doesn’t like Futurama, it’s because they’re just too uninformed to get how funny the various references are, or they have no sense of humor.

Futurama is witty. No one doubts that. Sometimes I just wish it were as funny as it was riddled with witty references.

That being said I do like the show and my comments about it having been on long enough do not mean it’s bad in any way.
