EmpireYou’ve probably seen the trailer by now. What you might not have seen is the Japanese version of the trailer. It contains mere seconds of additional footage, padded out with Speilberg and Bay introducing the movie to Japanese audiences. Check it out.

For those of us who wanted to see more than the back of Prime’s head in the trailer, he stands tall on the cover of Empire in the UK (see left)

And of course we have more toys. Barricade, Starscream, Bumblebee, Brawl, and Ratchet all in deluxe mode. Theres also some prototypes for tiny Barricade, Prime, and Megatron….

Lets get these small ones out of the way. Most of these pictures were nabbed from eBay auctions for the toys stolen from factories, so I don’t see much use in crediting them.

Optimus Prime, not colored, and only 3 inches tall.

Barricade, also small and uncolored.

tinymegatron1.jpgtinymegatron2.jpg
Megatron. I don’t think they transformed him right, and details are still scarce on what he’s really supposed to look like.

Now the bigger guys. these are all Deluxe class ($10) figures.

Only Ratchet can prevent forest fires.

Bumble Bee, in 70s Camaro style

starscream1.jpgstarscream2.jpg
Disregard the blot of paint on Starscream’s face, but do regard his unconventional appearance.

Starscream is taking the bulk of the heat for not looking much at all like any past incarnation. Personally I like the guns instead of hands. Hands imply he might want to touch something without killing it. Thats not Starscream.
