Street Fighter Anniversary Collection and Street Fighter Alpha Anthology Review

Just wanted to add a few things.

There was a console verison of Pocket Fighters, orignially for the playstation. Pocket Fighters is a spin off of Super Gem Fighters, a puzzle game using Capcom Charaters (a majority of which is street fighter). Using the uber cute uber deformed characters they were put into a game where they actually fought each other, known as Pocket Fighters on our side of the world. This game had button mashing combos, (i.e. punch punch punch punch, kick kick kick kick or any combination of the two) with easy to chain supers. Each button mash combo gives the fighter differnet outfits. There are also gems that the fighters collect to build up their speical move. for example ryu starts off with a level one hadouken, but can upgrade to a level three collecting enough red gems during the bout.

There are several collectors edition anniversary controllers made for the PS2 and Xbox. The front cover of the box is the same art used on the limited holo foil covers of the comic book. I do believe the latest controller is of evil ryu and is wireless. Also the controller is in the shape of a sega saturn controller, many believe to be the best controller for many 2D fighters.

You didn’t mention much about Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, but that is where the franchise is heading. Rumor has it that Ryu will be the only returning charater in SF4 and will have aged much like Terry in Garou: Mark of the Wolves.

I have yet to purchase a copy of Alpha Anthology but did they include the additional charaters from the psp version or Guile? To my knowledge, he is unlockable on the playstation version of Street Fighter Alpha 3 and was selectable right off the bat in the Dreamcast Version.

Oh by the way, the live action movie set the movement back 10 years. It should be burned. Right next to Batman and Robin.
