I, too, was pissed at the exclusion of Barry, which makes RE: Gaiden his swan song, and nobody deserves that.
The one thing I absolutely loved about this game? Head stomping. Why it took them this long to include it is beyond me.
If the next game truly is a reboot, maybe they could go with mystical zombies, or at least begin with that illusion. God knows Capcom bent over backwards to explain everything scientifically in the current RE series.

wow great one, and there are way to much phathetic fanboys on gametrailers. Come on, im a fan of the game since re1, and im tired of stop and shoot gameplay. Dead Space did it the right way, why re5 cant ?
Oh and chris arms arent that big, he looks like an amateur bodybuilder, and i think he schould train a lot for his job ;f

Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, but I’m having a difficult time respecting yours here. Many of the complaints made against RE5 in this video are standard fare for those who, it would seem, didn’t really like the Resident Evil series’ gameplay or storyline to begin with. The oversimplification of the surprisingly rich plot (which, since you feel that you can criticize, I assume you have read up on at length), the dislike of the trademark silly puzzles, and even the bewilderment of the decision to remain stationary while firing (as explained in an interview with the devs, this was intentional to apply a claustrophobic effect) all show me that you’re likely not among the target audience.
If you’re going to review a ‘hardcore’ game from a casual player’s point of view, at least have the sense to take a humble attitude about it. Remember that a lot of very talented folk have decided on every minute aspect of the play in this game, and the fact that you don’t understand why some decision was made the way it was is more due to your lack of knowledge than the developers’ oversight.
Unfortunately, your video falls in line with the quality of most large review sites. You don’t respect the heritage if you didn’t enjoy it personally, you haven’t done your homework, you’ve decided that you think you can design a game better than the devs, and you’re constantly spouting self-righteous snark. A little humbleness goes a long way.
I hope you’ll not instantly dismiss this post (if, indeed, you read it, as I realize this is a fairly old video), assuming me to be a crazed fan, and instead give my requests even a little consideration. Snarky reviewers are a dime a dozen, but a humble one is rare indeed.
Apologies for the essay, and I do have to agree on one point; I sure would like to see Barry brought back one of these days!

Wow, tarstan… when people use the word fanboy, they mean you. Believe it or not, most people (even video game reviewers) don’t research and dedicate every waking moment to the story lines of games. I personally love Zelda games, yet I don’t write my doctorate on how misunderstood it’s timeline is every time someone says that the Oracle games happened before Ocarina of Time.
And for you to say that this is a “Harcore” game and that casual gamers need to be humbles by it… well, you are sadly retarded. Most gamers, casual, hardcore, elderly, whatever… will play games they enjoy, and bitch about ones they don’t. No one should have to be more or less lenient due to the difficulty or dedication requirement of a game, and just because you plan to marry our buddy Chris doesn’t mean we all have to worship his popeye-armed goodness. If the folks over at Capcom wanted everyone ever to like their game, they would have made the hardcore-ness of their game adjustable, since they apparently did not, I’m going to assume it’s because they could care less about the reviewers and rely solely on the sales to series fanboys much like the makers of Halo, Tomb Raider, Devil May Cry, Super Mario, Sonic, and nearly every other video game series that has been severely raped recently.
Other than that, I’d say the reveiw was fair and accurate.
