While were still recovering from our first look at the “movie Prime,” Remy has a gallery of Transformers Classics Optimus Prime available. Theres shots of him in and out of box and comparisons with Primes from the past.
Remy, if you didn’t know, is the man behind TFkenkon, and frequently takes pictures worth making you change your mind about a figure. Take a look at his collection, and try not to lose your mind wanting all the toys pictured.

1:45 PM: In a live webcast, Transformers scriptwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman revealed the names of the characters to be used in the feature film.

5:45 PM UPDATE: TFW2005 has a roundup of info from the chat, including descriptions of the characters.

Four new images from the movie set have surfaced on FLIKR. We’re going to mirror those images in the (likely) event they disappear.
The first 2 are a close-up of Optimus Prime’s grill, and a group shot of the four of the autobots. You’ll recognize the black pickup as Ironhide, the yellow Camaro is Bumblebee, Optimus Prime is the semi, and the hummer/ambulance is Ratchet. Not pictured is Jazz, who has yet to be spotted on film or discussed in set reports.

The second two images are major spoilers you can see them after the jump. You will see a final robot design and find out a major plot point by clicking ahead.

UPDATE: We now have posted some of the toy prototypes and some concept images after the jump. Same spoiler rules apply.

Sorry to interrupt the actual news reporting and editorials we usually do around here, but I clipped together this charming little video, and the least you can do is watch it.

Audio is provided by the Halo 3 trailer, and video is entirely footage from Transformers: The Movie. Since it feels like I can’t go a day without doing stories about Halo or Transformers, its only fair I end up putting both tags on the same story at least once.

S250 over at the 2005boards has posted a number of images of new mini-con molds in Transformers Classics packaging. Three sets were shown in all with both the front and back of the packaging. The breakdown seemed to be a dinobot set, a rescue set, and a construction set (with a tank).

These two images have magically appeared at TFW2005. The first is the fist, arm and shoulder of what many are saying it the CG model for Optimus Prime for the forthcoming Transformers movie. The second is has a black bar censoring the middle third of the image, but it couldn’t be more clear that it Optimus Prime’s face.
You’ll recall we’ve already seen Optimus Prime’s movie truck mode, and insiders at TFW2005 have thrown their reputation toward legitimacy for that image as well as these.I’m left wondering if this is a legit leak or another Dreamworks marketing move to let us see a tiny little bit to gauge reactions and get us hungry for more.

If so, you guys win. I’m ready for this movie more than ever.

Remember, Peter Cullen is Optimus Prime, and the movie will be released to theaters July 4, 2007. 11 months to go!

Botcon.com has posted additional images of the box set of exclusive figures. The future Axalon crew is featured in a group show and as they appear in the foam packaging they will come in. You can see both of these images below.

 

As a member of the Transformers Collectors Club, I would just like to add my disappointment that I was once again not informed of an update to this site via the club email and instead had to find out by looking at another news site. What exactly am I paying for if not to be informed? Other than the toy, of course.

Rather than write a review, I thought I would do a video to show why Cybertron Primus should be higher on your Transformers Buy List than it is right now. I wasn’t excited about the figure until I opened him up, but it didn’t take long for me to be an avid fan of the mold.

Strangely, the announcement is not on Bungie.net yet, but Halo has a director. His name is Neill Blomkamp. He’s never directed a major motion picture before, but he’s got a long history of TV and commercial work. Stop cringing. This is a commercial he directed:

Thats right, the dancing Citroen. In fact nearly all of his projects have been heavy on special effects and high technology. Joystiq invites you to scrutinize his resume.

But don’t take our word for it. Whats Executive Producer Peter Jackson say?

“As a gaming fan, I’m excited to bring Halo’s premise, action and settings to the screen with all the specificity and reality today’s technology can provide,” said Jackson. “Fran and I are intrigued by the unique challenges this project offers, and we’re delighted to be working again with our friends at Universal, and with our new ones at Fox and Microsoft. With Neill on board, I’m even more excited by the potential of this project.”

Wow, thats press release quality quoting there!

Halo is now due for a 2008 summer release.
