Zack Snyder is making a new movie. He directed that Dawn of The Dead remake, 300, and Watchmen. It looks like after tricking his geek audience into watching well oiled Spartans flex and fight for 2 hours, he’s going to deliver a movie full of fan service in the opposite direction.

David Fincher is making a movie about Facebook. I can’t imagine this being interesting, in fact it sounds boring, because if one of the founders of Facebook were a serial killer or anarchist, I assume I would’ve heard about it by now. But then he got Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails to do the score, and suddenly the story I couldn’t give two craps about it is being told in sight and sound by two of the darkest artists working today.

So here is the trailer, where Jesse Eisenberg proves he’s not a Michael Cera doppelganger but a Mark Zuckerberg doppelganger.

Seth Rogen lost a lot of weight a couple years back and it was all with the aim of taking over The Green Hornet. This didn’t seem likely since the movie had been in development hell with everyone from George Clooney to Kevin Smith attached at various points in the last 2 decades. Even this version of the film switched directors twice before settling on Michel Gondry.
But now here we are the movie is coming out in 2011 in 3D! I wouldn’t normally put an exclamation mark on “3D” but Michel Gondry has an excellent visual effects track record.

While most of you loyal readers are out having barbeques and eating typical Memorial Day fare, a new movie trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs The World was released. Gotta say, I’m looking forward to this movie! Enjoy!

Based on the Canadian comic book that is not a manga. I’ve never read the book, but I like Director Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Spaced). I’m also not quite sick of Michael Cera yet. I love all the wacky video game references, my favorite being the “KO!” directly ripped from Street Fighter Alpha 3.

Movie comes out August 13. What do you think? Worth seeing?

Not fighting Aliens. Well, they do fight aliens if you consider the humans on a world not their own are technically aliens.
Also, Robert Rodriguez, famous for directing Shorts and Spy Kids, is not the director of this movie. His name is all over it because you’ve never heard of Nimród Antal.
I’m not sure this series needed a reboot. If anything, I was kinda hoping the AvP series would go direct to video and we’d start seeing some rubber suits and Gary Busey in a new one. Leave it to sci-fi horror fans to take stuff too seriously…

I’m a little late with this one, but its pretty great.

It had been a while since I’d seen Woody in a movie, then Zombieland promptly reminded me how awesomely funny he is. Defendor looks like it does the job too. Woody plays a headcase who thinks he’s a superhero going after a supervillain who might not exist.
Since its written and directed by a Canadian, Peter Stebbings , they’ll get release first on February 19 in Vancouver, Calagary, and Toronto. It will open in LA on February 26, and hopefully a wider release will follow for the rest of North America.
