This week sees the release of the highly anticipated Street Fighter 4. To celebrate, Powet presents a special 2-part $20 Game of the Week/Lost Classics/Maximum Letdown Special on some of the highs and the lows of the franchise. This is part one, in which we will feature the original Street Fighter (as an example of why you can’t go home again) and the two games based on a certain movie starring Jean Claude Van Damme which just so happens to have a name and cast of characters similar to Street Fighter. The above video with 1UP’s Dan Hsu shows some of the changes Capcom has made to the Xbox Live and Playstation Network remake of Super Street Fighter II Turbo.
Taking a page out of Halo 3’s playbook, SSFIITHDR will have an Xbox Live beta test featuring just Ryu and Ken packed in with a purchase of Capcom’s next XBLA offering Commando 3. Its an 8 week test this spring, and the final Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will be out in summer.

Any of you junkies out there that have been itching to see actual footage of the upcoming Street Fighter 4 game currently in production can get your wishes fulfilled. The boys over at 1Up.com produced a video that gives the first ever seen gameplay straight from the game, as well as info concerning the game’s setup.
There’s an interview with game producer Yoshinori Ono that you have to muddle through before getting to the actual footage, which doesn’t appear until the 3:20 mark (in case you don’t wanna wade through). I just got a kick outta the little Street Fighter chibis behind Ono’s back. Too cute.
