So the police kicked a girl out of San Diego Comic-Con for wearing a costume which was too revealing. Oh … and that girl was actually Adrianne Curry, winner of the first “America’s Next Top Model”. Oh yes and she was actually a guest at the convention…
She was wearing a very revealing costume of Ćon Flux. How revealing? Well it was more revealing than the one worn by Charlize Theron in the 2005 live action film, but it was actually pretty spot on to the costume from the original Peter Chung animated series that aired on MTV in the early 90s.
The original Halo is a memorable game for a variety of reasons, but perhaps the best example of the game and the best introduction one could be given to the universe is the level “The Silent Cartographer.”
Master Chief John 117 and a crew of marines are dropped on to a beach with a wide variety of Covenant enemies at the ready. This level also features the music commonly thought of as the “Halo Theme”
The demo shows a talked about feature: Classic mode. Tapping the “back” button on your Xbox controller will swap the new graphics for the original 2001 graphics. Honestly, I think the game looks pretty good either way, and the classic mode really does more to show off what they could accomplish with new textures and a few layers added on to the old engine.
This demo is what was originally shown behind closed doors at E3 last month, but is being shown to everyone at San Diego ComiCon.
Marvel announced in their “Marvel Digital: What’s Next Panel” at SDCC 2011 that they will be releasing several major comics digitally the same day they are released into comic shops. The first comics to be released like this will be the Amazing Spider-Man series start with issue #666, and all issues under the Spider Island event. Starting this fall new series Uncanny X-Men and Wolverine and the X-Men will also have day an date digital releases.
While the Ultimate Spider-Man series has had day and date digital releases for a while now, the announcement to start releasing much larger titles this way is most likely a response to DC Comics announcement that all 52 comics in the DCU relaunch will have day and date digital released.
The little-known-yet-totally-awesome geek band from Seattle, WA – Kirby Krackle – had some pretty sweet pictures coming out of their Twitter from Preview Night at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, from exclusive figures and models of Deadpool and Ghost Rider’s bike, to a full scale model of the mech armor from Suckerpunch, to a huge lego-esque Super CoCo!
Huge props to Kirby Krackle for these awesome photos for those of us who couldn’t make it!
