Welcome to the Powet Top 5, where we explore the top (and bottom) 5 items we think are relevant to any of a variety of topics that span the imagination. Sit back, read, and respond.
This blog is no stranger to 80’s animation. We probably post about it entirely too much. Why ruin a good streak, though. Today, we celebrate Science! Here’s a quick rundown of the Top 5 Scientists from 80’s animation in no particular order.
Its here! Toy Fair 2012 kicked off yesterday in traditional fashion a day early with a Hasbro media event done the day before the show begins. In it, they show off a great deal of what their fans have to look forward to over the next year or so. There was so much information from the panel that I needed to break it down into sections. This post represents all of the GI Joe information I could scrounge together reading the coverage from other sites. I like to think I filled in a lot of gaps by using so many resources, but i will allow you to be the judge. Read on after the jump for more!

Yeah, this starts with Dwayne Johnson quoting Jay-Z, but we also see Cobra Commander again. The first G.I. Joe: Retaliation Trailer only saw a blink of him, leading more than a few fans to cry that it was just a random Viper.
But upon closer focus in this ad, there can be no debate. This is Cobra Commander.
Really digging that mask. I see elements of the old Commander silver mask, Serpentor, the standard Viper infantry, and the IDW comics Cobra Commander.
Retaliation will release on June 29, 2012 in the US.
The location for the 2012 GI Joe Collectors’ Convention will be New Orleans, Louisiana. The con will take place starting June 21st through June 24th. Hotel information will be coming soon, but at least you can start planning where you won’t be during those days. The June/July convention time slot is usually saved for Botcon, the official Transformers Collectors’ Convention, both run by Fun Publications. The significance of this should not be lost. The GI Joe movie sequel, GI Joe: Retaliation, premieres one week after the date of this convention.
Sideshow Collectibles has posted a video to share some background on two of their upcoming releases in the GI Joe 12 inch action figure line. Zartan and Rock n Roll are featured along with a great look at some of their accessories and the designing decisions behind them.
