In what might be one of the strangest import deals ever, Craig McCracken’s anime inpired Cartoon Network his Powerpuff Girls is going become an actual anime.
PPG already runs (successfully) in Japan and this new show will start airing in July with a 52 episode run, according to Toon Zone. No plans for a US release yet, but a dub release of an anime based on a US show that is inspired by anime is surreal.
Someone has got some (kinda poor) early footage from the show, but you can get a good idea of what we might be in for with this.

Its seems Billy West, the voice of Fry, has posted again on his message board to retract his statement about 26 new episodes of Futurama. It does appear that there will be some sort of Futurama project coming out in the future but a new season is not currently on the agenda, sadly.
From the post:
Guys,
I’m sorry I gave inaccurate info on the cartoon.I was told on one end that the
TV show was a go but DXC enlightened me (with a hammer) that this was
not the case.I think there is a Futurama project as in DVD’s but I appearently
had bad info. But I do live to give good Futurama news to people. So I must’ve
died or something.
All eyes on the skies,
Billy
Thanks to Sam for the heads up.

Action Figure Express has an exclusive version of the Masters of the Universe Sorceress mini-statue coming up from the Four Horsemen. The colors of the regular statue reflect those shown in the animated series from 2004. The exclusive statue uses the color scheme the Four Horsemen originally proposed to Mattel for the show. The colors are very similar to the original scheme from the character in the 80’s version of the animated series.
You can order this statue here. I have a feeling I’ll be ordering one.

The voice of Fry from Futurama, Billy West, has made a post to his message board making a brief disclaimer to a new poster and then continuing on to say that he is in negotiations to do 26 new episodes of Futurama that will most likely air on television before a dvd release.

Greetings from the year 3000! It still sucks!

Greg Weisman, the co-creator of the Gargoyles has given an interview to comicbookresources.com. In it he describes his work on the upcoming Gargoyles comic book. The book will be in canon with the animated series and take place after the end of Season 2. After Season 2, Weisman had left the series for various reasons and Disney decided to continue without him on what is popularly known as the worst season of Gargolyes, The Goliath Chronicles. Just reading the interview, it is very clear that Weisman has a direction with this book and plenty of material. The book is slated for a possible June release, so keep an eye out. I know I will be.

Pixar’s Cars gets a shiny new trailer.
I’ll be honest, if I had to make a list of my favorite stars of all time, Paul Newman and Owen Wilson would be at the top, and they’re both in this movie. And Pixar has yet to release a dud. Who doesn’t want to see this movie?

Gentle Giant is expanding their successful line of maquettes beyond the Clone Wars animated series. According to this announcement, with the addition of another Clone Wars character, classic characters from the original trilogy will also be added. The new maquettes will include Leia with Artoo, Darth Vader and Boba Fett. Each of these statues will be made in the same style as the Clone Wars animation. Between Padme and Leia, there looks to be plenty of fan service for the fans of the animated series.
