Super Mario Galaxy Secrets!

Fellow Powet Soldier Extra Zero showed me this video. Its a compilation of undocumented abilities and tricks in Super Mario Galaxy. Highlights include how to get a fast start in a race with Cosmic Mario and how to make your butt-stomp home in like Sonic’s spin jump in Sonic Adventure! Also, be wary of the “Spoiler Alert” as everything after that in the video contains stuff for after you complete the game and go for the final star.

Speed Racer Photos

spritleandchimchim.jpg
USA Today has 8 stills from Speed Racer, the new adaptation of the classic anime directed by the Wachowski Brothers (The Matrix).

Just seeing Spritle and Chim Chim in the trunk of the car is enough for me.

And now you can see the full trailer at Moviefone. (thanks Ryan!)

Street Fighter IV Screen

There it is from 1UP. A full cover story on the game will appear in EGM’s January issue, which should be in the mail and in stores any day now.

They did reveal the game is 2D six-button fighting with Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and Dhalsim returning.

GI Joe: Ray Park is Snake Eyes

snakeeyesdarthmaul.jpg
According to Slashfilm, Ray Park has been cast as the ninja commando Snake Eyes in GI Joe. Park is best known as Darth Maul from Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace. He was also Toad in the first X-Men film and the Stuntman behind the headless Horseman in Sleepy Hollow.

So he’s very good at roles where he’ll become an action figure, and excels at having his face obscured. Park is also a 2nd degree black belt in Wushu and Shaolin Kung Fu.

Basically, he’s the perfect person to cast as the silent Snake Eyes. Can you think of anyone better?

Xbox 360 Fall Update 2007

Wow, what a mountain of awesome stuff in the Dashboard Update! This video comes from Microsoft’s Game Score Blog. The update should be available very soon, if not by the time you read this.

Couple of things you might want to check out:
Friends Of Friends – here you can set your privacy settings for the new Friends Of Friends feature.
Arcade Hits – some of the pricier Xbox Live Arcade titles now cost less! Marble Blast Ultra and Lumines and more! More arcade titles will drop in price just like the ‘Platnium Hits’ program on disc games.
DivX Playback – At last, watch video you downloaded on you home computer on a TV without converting it all into some other goofy format.

Lost Classics: Jurassic Park 2 – The Chaos Continues (SNES)

jp2.gifDuring the mid-90s, Michael Crichton’s novel about the perils of genetic manipulation and dinosaurs was rising in popularity. A movie had just been released, and the obligatory marketing blitz soon followed. There were action figures, comic books, lunch boxes, and of course video games. Games based on the original movie have been released on various Nintendo and Sega platforms, including Sega’s Genesis side-scroller (in which players can choose to play as either Dr. Alan Grant or a raptor) and Ocean’s SNES top-down/FPS hybrid. With the success of these video games and the popularity of the source material, there were bound to be sequels. However, with no movie sequel at the time, developers took liberties with the franchise when creating new projects.

$20 Game of the Week: Everyday Shooter (Playstation 3, Windows)

everydayshooter.jpgTake Geometry Wars, pour in a cup of music rhythm game, and add in a dash of puzzle. Stir it all together and bake it for 45 minutes, and you get this downloadable surprise hit. Created by Jonathan Mak, Everyday shooter takes the familiar dual analog control scheme (left stick for movement, right stick for shooting) and integrates music into the gameplay. You play through several levels, each with their own graphical style, music, and play mechanics. The trick is to create explosions, and chain them together to add on more points. Each level has a different method of creating chains, and only by practice will you discover them all. Besides competing for high scores, the points you earn can be used to unlock features in the game’s shop. The play mechanics of Everyday Shooter are as simple as they get, yet it’s addictive and hard to master. For only $10, you can download this title from the Playstation Network’s online store.

ALF on O’Reilly

Paul Fusco has come out of exile to perform once again as ALF. Apparently after one season of his TVLand show (the cancelled “ALF’s hit talk show) he’s now interested in being a Fox News Pundit.
Though his show has been off the air for quite some time, I’m happy to see all 4 seasons are on DVD.
For those that might’ve forgotten this classic, the canned laughter sitcom highlight reel is included below. [Read the rest of this entry…]
