Red Faction Battlegrounds Announcement Trailer

Some of the more fun parts of Red Faction Guerrilla were driving a car into a building to knock it down. Or hopping in a mech and wrecking the crap out of enemy soldiers forming on your position.

THQ realizes this and has a dandy Xbox Live Arcade and PSN game called Red Faction Battlegrounds that will be out next year.

$20 Game of the Week: SWAT 4 Gold Edition (PC)

swat4The SWAT series started off as the fifth entry in Daryl Gates’s Police Quest series, but spun off into it’s own franchise. The games center around SWAT training and tactics. The first two games were branded as Police Quest games, but spun off into their own series with SWAT 3, which ditched the Police Quest branding and became an FPS. SWAT 4 is the most recent PC entry in the series. Like its predecessors, SWAT 4 stresses tactics and strategy over running and gunning, and encourages the use of non-lethal force. It’s a thinking man’s shooter, and it rewards patience, planning, and strategy over senseless shooting. Oh and it just so happens to be from the same people who made System Shock 2, the Freedom Force games, and some little known game called Bioshock.

Powet Alphabet: G is for the Gray Ghost

The Gray Ghost
Since the alphabet is the building block of our language, the Powet Alphabet is the building block of what makes us geeks.

“When crime haunts the night, a silent crusader carries the torch of justice.

Those with evil hearts beware for out of the darkness comes the Gray Ghost!”

The Gray Ghost

“The Gray Ghost” is fake TV show which exists in the world of “Batman: The Animated Series”. It’s hard to talk about him without getting into levels of fiction going deeper than the average scene in Inception!

The Gray Ghost character on the TV show is played by Simon Trent who is a character played by Adam West. In this way, the Gray Ghost is comparable to the old live action “Batman” TV series which Adam West starred in as well. Physically the Gray Ghost doesn’t look that much like Batman. He is more similar looking to The Shadow. In this universe you can’t exactly have Batman watching and old show called Batman. Similarities here exist, such as the Batcave being modeled after the Gray Ghost’s lair.

The Gray Ghost’s main and original appearance was in an episode of “Batman: The Animated Series” titled “Beware of the Gray Ghost”. The basic plot of this episode centers around a character who is doing copycat crimes based off of an old episode of the Gray Ghost show named “The Mad Bomber”.

Bioshock Infinte Debut Trailer

For those of you wondering if Bioshock was going to move beyond just a sequel and into a full series, wonder no more.

Moving beyond the underwater world of Rapture, Bioshock Infinite rolls the clock back to 1912 in the flying city of Columbia. Irrational Games, devlopers of the original Bioshock, have been hard at work on the title for some time now, though they do not plan to release it until 2012.

What do you think? Are ready to leave Rapture for an even crazier setting? Will the next Bioshock go underground or in space?

GI Joe Collectors’ Convention 2011 Dates and Location announced

The Terrordrome has relayed information on next year’s JoeCon. The 2011 GI Joe Collectors’ Convention will be held in Orlando, Florida at the Dolphin and Swan resort hotels. Sound familiar? That was the location of this year’s Transformers Convention, Botcon, hosted by the same company, Fun Publications. The dates for the convention will be March 31 – April 3. Should be a lot more pleasant than the ridiculous humidity and heat encountered at Botcon this year.

This year’s JoeCon was held in Providence, RI, hometown of Hasbro HQ and former Botcon host city. It looks like Joe fans have started a trend following Transformers fans as far as convention locations. Will JoeCon 2012 be held in Pasadena, CA, the 2011 Botcon location? Only time will tell and I’m sure that will have a lot to do with the progress of the second GI Joe movie.
