Street Fighter 4 Gameplay Revealed

Any of you junkies out there that have been itching to see actual footage of the upcoming Street Fighter 4 game currently in production can get your wishes fulfilled. The boys over at 1Up.com produced a video that gives the first ever seen gameplay straight from the game, as well as info concerning the game’s setup.

There’s an interview with game producer Yoshinori Ono that you have to muddle through before getting to the actual footage, which doesn’t appear until the 3:20 mark (in case you don’t wanna wade through). I just got a kick outta the little Street Fighter chibis behind Ono’s back. Too cute.

$20 GOTW & Lost Classics Special: Off the Turnbuckle Edition Part 1

pro-wrestling-nes.jpgHope everyone’s had a merry Christmas. Hopefully you digested all that Christmas dinner, because it’s time to hit the squared circle. That’s right, Powet is gonna take you ringside for a look at wrestling gaming. In the first part of our special, we’ll take a look back at some of the best (and worst) that wrestling gaming had to offer up to and including the Playstation and Nintendo 64 years. Part 2, coming this weekend, will feature a look at some of the more recent wrestling games, including WWE Raw vs Smackdown 2008 and Fire Pro Wrestling Returns. So grab a folded-up chair (or whatever other weapon that strikes your fancy), a 6-pack of your favorite alcoholic beverage, a luchador mask, and a homemade cardboard sign, and (in the voice of Michael Buffer) LETS GET READY TO RUMBLEEEEEEEEEEE!

Oh, and watch out for thumbtacks, florescent lights, and exploding barbwire.

How the bitch stole Christmas

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

I usually try to stay away from any profanity in news articles, but this was just so well done that I wanted to make an exception. To go along with the holiday sentiment today, I am posting a link to this parody of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This one revolves around comic books. Here’s an excerpt:

Every Fan
Down in Fan-ville
Liked Comics a lot…

But the Bitch,
Who lived just North of Fan-ville,
Did NOT!

The Bitch hated Comics!
The whole Comics scene!
‘Though nobody knows how she turned out so mean.
It could be that her head wasn’t screwed on quite right.
It could be, perhaps, she wore panties too tight.
But I think that the most likely reason of all
May have been that her chest was two sizes too small.

You can read the rest of odditycollector’s parody here.

Happy Holidays from the Powet.TV staff!

Resident Evil: Degeneration Teaser & More

The world of Resident Evil is getting some high priority in the media world recently. Hot on the heels of the recently released Umbrella Chronicles (see earlier this week for more on that), we also seem to have a CGI movie in the works as well. Despite some videos being removed on YouTube, a perfectly safe teaser trailer has been released to the rabid public who are dying to keep filled up on their zombie-slaying quotas.

You get a basic gist of the plot simply from this small snippet of footage, but plenty is still left open to interpretation. Good to know Claire Redfield still sports the *exact* same look she did 7 years prior during Resident Evil 2 & Code Veronica. I know if I’ve got a good thing going, I stick with it for years on end.

Also as a little treat for the Resident Evil enthusiasts, a “Virtual Legends” line of pre-painted scale statues have also been made available for pre-order through various import toy distributors, and include Umbrella Chronicles variations of Chris Redfield and the T-002 Tyrant among others. Not cheap mind you, but nice additions to any collector’s montage.

Last Devil May Cry 4 Trailer?

It’s not uncommon knowledge that the presumed “last” of the trailers for Devil May Cry 4 was released a few days ago. You can see the trailer below, but do be warned as it does contain a shyte-load of spoilers for the game.

Seeing as DMC4 released on February 5th here in the US, the connotations that this could be the final trailer very well may be true. Even if that was officially announced as such, it wouldn’t be the first time a game’s marketing team has fibbed to the public to create hype. Regardless, if previous trailer for this game haven’t made you want to go out and grab it upon it’s release, then this one will test your resolve even further.

Hell, Dante’s got a rocket-platform of all things! How can that not entice you?
