Rumors have been swirling for the past couple days, but Hasbro held its 2009 Fall Investor Event last week showing they were committed to television content, toylines and movies for both Jem & The Holograms and Micronauts. As soon as that announcement was made, it appears that JJ Abrams made a bid for the Micronauts movie. Rumor has it that Micronauts’ appearance in Mattel’s fan poll on licenses they should acquire prompted Hasbro to act quickly to keep Mattel away from Takara and the series from which Transformers originated.

Batman doesn’t have many friends. I mean, he’s in the Justice League and he teams up with a new costumed bozo every week on Cartoon Network, but that doesn’t mean any of these guys are close.

So Batman sometimes has to be the snot out of allies. This happens in official books and toons a lot, but when you open it up to the world of fan films, edits, and satire, you’ll get some good stuff.

The new theatrical trailer for the Prince of Persia movie has been released on YouTube for the world to see. The trailer looks pretty good; similar to Pirates of the Caribbean in terms of special effects and overall-feel. What I’m digging is the subtle influences from the game that they actually have put into the movie, such as honest-to-god wall jumping, and the activation of the Dagger of Time making the Prince (Jake Gyllenhaal) look something akin to the Dark Prince’s form from “Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones“. If the entire movie has such influences and easter eggs that were prominant in the games, there might actually be hope for the film.
