Terminator Salvation for Free

So the Terminator franchise is on the auction block because Halcyon is on the verge of bankruptcy. I guess they figured, they’ll just give away the last movie for free.
Go to CinemaNow and enter promo code “TS201023” and after a short registration, they’ll give you a digital copy of the movie. Of course its DRM protected and will have to playback in a DivX player. Why would they let you have it free if you could share it with everybody?
If you’re willing to give them your email address and sit at your PC, go ahead and have a free movie.

AC/DC shoots to thrill with Iron Man 2

Man that was a loaded headline. You get all that?

AC/DC are contributing what appears to be the entire soundtrack to the next Marvel motion picture. The above video is “Shoot To Thrill” which is a song that originally appeared on AC/DC’s Back In Black album (which most of you should own since its sold 49 million copies and sits behind Thriller as the #2 highest selling album). the album AC/DC: Iron Man will release on April 19, and has 15 tracks.

The video has some new footage not seen in existing trailers, and a lot of stuff we’ve seen. Its all intercut with a performance from AC/DC last month in Buenos Aires from December 2009.

Its unlikely that the whole movie will be filled with AC/DC songs, but “Back In Black” was a big part of the first Iron Man’s advertising and soundtrack so I guess they’re just trying to fill out some corporate cross promotional potential. Still, if you never bought and AC/DC record, this might not be a bad start.

Halo Reach Artwork and Developer Commentary

GameInformer has been adding content to their site to match their cover story on Halo: Reach, and while screen shots and history lessons are cool, this video opens up a lot of info for fans.

Noble Team are indeed made up mostly of Spartan IIIs, who are a step down from the super solider Spartan IIs that Master Chief John 117 from the Halo Trilogy grew up from. The Spartan IIIs were cheaper to train and arm, and rely on team work without an onboard A.I. partner.

We also find see two new guns and learn that this sixth Halo game, the fourth on Xbox 360, will finally include the ability to RUN.

Walking Dead to AMC with Frank Darabont

Robert Kirkman’s excellent zombie comic series The Walking Dead has been officially drafted into a TV series. AMC, who currently run series such as Breaking Bad and Mad Men, have agreed to a pilot that will shoot and air later this year.

Frank Darabont, the man who successfully adapted Stephen King’s Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile will helm the pilot as writer and director.

The Walking Dead follows a Kentucky police officer and his family as they survive the zombie apocalypse. Instead of going direct for shock or gore, the biggest shocks in the book come from the emotional and physical impact the world has on the survivors. The book is still ongoing, with over 60 issues collected in 11 paperbacks currently available, so if AMC turns this into a long running series they’ll have no trouble continuing the story.

But don’t take my word for it…
