Monday Mashups: Party Ben
by FakeTrout, filed in Uncategorized on Oct.26, 2009
I probably could’ve posted this on Friday so you would’ve been armed with some good music to go into your weekend, but then we’d have this problem of ruining the wordplay of “monday mashup” and its only the second week of this feature so I don’t want to kill it too quickly.
Anyway, Party Ben is a San Fransisco DJ with a highly successful career of mixing songs together to give away for free on his website. Actually that probably doesn’t earn him much money at all, but he still does it and thats cool.
The video above shows Daft Punk’s “Da Funk” mixed with Queen’s “Another One Bites The Dust” which he did a few years ago, though a completely different mash of both tunes are on DJ Hero.
Stuff you won’t find in video games that fake being a fake musician: Justin Timberlake vs Radiohead! Green Day and Kanye! Chemical Bros in Star Wars!
I’ll probably feature more mashup DJs in the feature in the future, but I had to get this one out not because he’s the hottest or anything but because he’s crushing alt rock and stuff you can’t usually get an instrumental or acapella version of from an import single. He’s doing it by hand. On a computer.
Oh well, throw some of this mess on the next time you’re rolling in the hood and see if you get shot. It’ll be fun.
