Marvel releases Civil War Opening Shot video

War is approaching…

Starting tomorrow the Marvel Universe is going to war. Marvel has been kind enough to post a video to bring everyone up to date (without giving much of anything away) and give us a tease of what is to come.

From their site:

Civil War #1 is less than one week away. You will need to decide: whose side are you on? Are you ready? Marvel wants to make sure you have all of the facts and have been exposed to all of the events leading up to this monumental event. Check out this video prequel that catches everyone up on the events of the last two years. Events that have haunted the heroes. Events that have turned the tide of public opinion. I love how no sooner does DC screw over their entire universe and budge out casual fans with Infinite Crisis, Marvel finds a way to disuade the average reader by reorganizing their universe.

nothing is ever eventual. they can never just reshape things over time can they? Its always gotta be some multi week event that people like me would rather read as a TPB a couple months down the road and when its easier to pick up the peices.

I actually love the idea of a civil war. Its simple and it happens in the world. I don’t really get Infinite Crisis at all. and if there were no multi-part crossover events we would never have gotten some of the greatest storylines to date like the Age of Apocalypse, the Mutant Massacre, X-tinction Agenda, etc, etc.,. Of course all I really follow are x-men arcs any way.
