Sony forcing users to not seek class action
by Crazy, filed in Games on Sep.16, 2011
According to a BBC article, Sony has changed the terms and conditions to their PlayStation Network (PSN). The change adds a new clause called “Binding Individual Arbitration” and states
“any Dispute Resolution Proceedings, whether in arbitration or court, will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class or representative action or as a named or unnamed member in a class, consolidated, representative or private attorney general action”
Users are apparently notified of the changes upon logging in to the network. If you do not agree, you will not be allowed to use the service. A user may opt out of the agreement within the next 30 days by sending a letter to Sony’s Los Angeles office.
