Revoltech Update – Starscream, Hot Rod, Asuka, and more
by Crazy, filed in Toys on Dec.01, 2007

Revoltech Expo 2007 was recently held in Japan. I know what you’re thinking, I didn’t think such a show existed either. Good for us it does. Lots of goodies were unveiled. Among the figures on the display were Transformers Starscream and Hot Rod. (Images from tfw2005.com)

Also on display were a number of new additions to the recently announced FRAULEIN line of female figures. One large standee depicted Asuka Langely Sorhyu from Neon Genesis Evangelion and another female I did not recognize, along with Rei Ayanami whom we already knew about.

There’s a lot more info after the jump.
There were also a couple pictures that lost me a bit. One included some oddly colored prototypes (i think!) with a rather large horse that looks surprisingly posable. The other image had a female figure with no articulation and a small girl loaded with articulation that also appeared to be able to dress up in a big cardboard outfit.

One of the problems with Revoltech is that it covers such a wide array of anime that you really don’t know what every figure is from. Most maybe, but usually not all. Its really not a problem since it has such wide appeal, but I can’t help but feel a little inadequate at the number of figures’ origins that are completely unknown to me.
Another series of figures called Assemble was on display that looked a lot like a cross between microman and stikfas with lots of colored chrome pieces that appear to snap on to generic articulated bodies.
