The Wizard to be released on DVD

The premeire film for Super Mario Bros 3 (this was before we had E3 reports and internets), The Wizard, will be coming to DVD on August 29th. And just like the Wii, it’ll be in widescreen and 480p. Pretty swell, huh?
I’m going to resist the urge to make a powerglove joke here, but its strange how much Lucas’ control over Rad Racer mirrors Nintendo’s demo of ExciteTruck just 2 weeks ago.
Suggested retail price is $14.98, but you know you’ll pay less than that and it will be worth much more.

I remember seeing that in the thatres with my friends when it first came out. It had a weak story line, but it was cool as hell to see a movie centered aroung video games. My God we were such Nintendo fanboys back then. I miss those days.

This movie is SO BAD. Thank god it’s finally been released so I can spread the love on those “share the crappy movies you love” nights. I already have First Men in the Moon and Supergirl lined up.

This one goes right next to the live action Super Mario movie for me.

I remember my dad taking my brother and I to see it at one of the many, many budget theaters in Baltimore at the time. I remember nothing about the movie except that there was a lot of nintendo stuff in it.

My brother used to tell me this movie was awesome. Then it finally played on tv – because we never even rented movies, let alone went to theaters – and I got to see it. And hell, I loved it. But still, I was really confused why Super Mario Bros 3 was supposed to be a measure of how good someone was at playing video games.

Super Mario Bros 3 was THE game coming out at the time the movie was released, that’s why it was given so much importance to the ending of the movie.
