That toy looks like a lot of fun. It reminds me of the old Robotix stuff.

Imagining this thing opening it's own packaging to escape from it's cardboard and plastic jail was quite amusing...

I tried picturing it and my imagination put it in a weird stop-motion animation style like Gumby.

I had the original Sky Lynx toy as a kid, so that video brought back some great childhood memories for me.  God I miss being a kid.

As nifty as he looks in that video, unless I get an uber great deal on him, I'm going to wait and hope that Hasbro does an updated take on him.  Like you said they used the name for a minicon, so hopefully we'll see something in universe or animated.  Walking gimmicks, while interesting, just don't interest me as much nowadays(although the fact that he could roll too was news to me).

One of the only other transformers I can think of with a walking gimmick was Trypticon and seeing something that big try to walk on its own was pretty awesome.

Your Sky Lnyx looks so sad without his gold foil stickers.

I know I shouldn't be so impressed, but after watching Sky Lynx walk I felt my purchase was entirely justified. My only previous experience with Sky Lynx was breaking my older brother's was before my conscious memory when I was still in diapers, so it was pretty fun to have one of the goofiest designs in the entire franchise. Oddly I was never impressed with Trypticon's walking ability when I was growing up.

Yeah, I thought the shuttle looked a little naked!  But then I was really able to appreciate the mold.  And when he's in his bird form he looks bad-ass anyway!

I always feel like I'm not coordinated to apply the stickers without messing it up somehow, plus I had only just opened it for the first time minutes before.

I thought of another Transformer with a walking gimmick. Omega Supreme... who just happens to be one of the next reissues in the Encore line.

the analogy of putting stickers on toys is like cutting the wires to defuse a bomb, that type of intensity. The world always shifts at the last second when i apply stickers, hence why i pretty much dont.

The stickers on Sky Lynx aren't too hard to place, they really line up with the plastic for the most part. I was pleasant surprised when I got around to applying mine. I did end up putting Lynx's autobot symbol in the wrong place, but it looks so good on the chrome of his head that I couldn't take upon myself to move it. Will probably just get an autobot symbol repro set to give the combined form his chest autobot symbols.

Agreed that stickers are generally a pain in the ass though.

Another reason I often don't put the stickers on nowadays is that if you put them on they will get sticker wear.  That and I too dread the slip of the hand that will misplace or, god forbid, tear the sticker.

And while I don't enjoy it as much as I did when I was younger, I concede walking toys still can be fun.  Just got Iron Monger from Burger King.
