Gargoyles Comic #2 street date

It’s been 5 months today since the first issue of the new Gargoyles comic was released and we still haven’t seen a second issue. Originally planned to be one issue every 2 months this comic has been delayed apparently because the art took longer to complete. By that logic shouldn’t we expect the same 3 month delay for all subsequent issues?

Regardless of the excuse Diamond Comics has finally listed Gargoyles #2 to be distributed on November 29th 2006.

The publisher’s production schedule states the comic is delayed until December. Frankly Diamond Comics has a good reputation and Slave Labor has had errors stated on their site about this comic before. When it was originally delayed Diamond Comics reflected this while Slave Labor made no mention it.

I wouldn’t stake my reputation on a November 29th date at this point though this is a more plausible date than we’ve seen before. More information and a review will be forthcoming as the comic is released.

The new issue came out December 13th, this week. It finished off the episode “The Journey.” I suppose the creator wanted to do it this way because should Disney ever get around to releasing the last of Season 2 on DVD then decide in turn to release the last of the series with the Goliath Chronicles, true fans will not feel obligated to support the show by buying the one episode that’s considered cannon. Instead we can all buy thr first two issues of the comic series and get that episode, “the Journey.” It’s about the only decent ep from the Goliath Chronicles.

So, as of now I haven’t seen any reviews up for this issue. Maybe nobody expected it some sixth months later. However, worry not faithful readers, or curious newbies, the letter in the back of the issue from the writer Greg Weisman said the delay was unavoidable due to some “bugs in the system” but they are back on schedule now. Expect issues delivered every two months from here on out. Here’s hoping.
