Transformers Movie Megatron Revealed

It seems that Aint It Cool News has leaked 4 pictures of what the Decepticon leader, Megatron, will look like. I have mirrored the images after the jump. As always, if you don’t want to be spoiled, then don’t click to read the rest of this story. These images don’t reveal anything about the movie itself. They are simply pictures of Megatron, himself.

I’m having a very neutral reaction to most of these designs. I’m having a little more trouble with this one, but if you squint really hard looking at his standard mode face, it sort of looks like Megabolt Megatron‘s head… sort of…

I think my biggest (read: only) problem with the robots is that they don’t look like Transformers to me, just generic alien armored things. Like Starship Troopers. Or ID4. Or something. There’s nothing particularly iconic about the design that makes me say “TRANSFORMER!”

Now, it’s completely another thing if these are their pre-Earth modes (alien jet pretty much tells me that this won’t be his final form). We’ve seen Prime’s head, for instance, and you can tell immediately who it is. If Megatron’s Earth-mode battle helmet looked more like the one we’re used to, then that’d make sense.

All speculation, of course.

Hahaha. You look at that and say “that doesn’t look like Megatron” and don’t get me wrong I understand that… it’s just… I look at that and think “That looks awesome” and I think most people who haven’t bought a Transformers toy in the past 10 years will probably say the same.

He’s got a real lack of color, thats my only problem with it.

Honestly, while a peek at the designs is nice, I can’t really say how well or bad these will be until we see them in action and everything. Hell, JarJar seemed like a good design and idea until I actually sat down in episode one and saw his true self.

Naw, Zac’s right. The lack of color and motion isn’t helping. Prime, for example, looks WAY better with color. Once he starts moving around, I can only imagine how great that would be.

The feet — that’s actualy something kind of cool. Typical transformers feet are like these huge blocks of metal that have no bend or twist. People can blame poor animation for the rigid movements in Energon/Cybertron, but I blame poor robot design. These feet don’t look like giant mechanical boots, but they actually do the things that feet are supposed to do.

whats with most of you. So what, megatron changed. Just a hint, HE CHANGED WITH EVERY SERIES! The fact that he looks nothing like his other forms his way too cool. Those pictures scream “EVIL MEGATRON” with every look. And besides, the “colorful” megatron was an 80’s thing. guess what, its the 21st century, tons of thing are bound to change to give this a more modern look.

Wow, it does not sound good. Reviews that I’ve read, sounds like MB messed up. The movie should be about the Transformers not about the humans. If we wanted to see a movie about humans then we would see the Pirates or something. The looks of the characters are so poorly done, MB just messed it all up.

I like the new design For Megatron, he looks awesome, definatly something from another planet, all of them do, but Megatron stands out to me. One question though, why does a giant robot need teeth?-oh wait I know! “The better to eat you with my dear”. Kidding By the way did anyone besides me notice he has tail featers looking pieces of metal on his butt?
