Miyamoto Demonstrates Skyward Sword Controls

It’s going to be a Zelda-riffic year for the original Legend’s 25th anniversary!

(Not really Tokyo Game Show-related, since Nintendo doesn’t attend the show, but you know that they had their event in response to it.)

In the following Video, Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto demonstrates how to the Wii MotionPlus to control Link in the new, long anticipated Skyward Sword Wii game.
(Or, at least he does at about the 6:15 mark.)

I’m kind of glad that Nintendo has released a game to finally take advantage of the Wii MotionPlus — especially because that means everyone can get one at little extra cost with the game — just sad that it took SO LONG…

AFX reveals exclusive Deadpool Corps Minimates set for NYCC 2011

Action Figure Xpress has updated their facebook page revealing that they will have an exclusive set of minimates based on the Deadpool Corps for New York Comic Con 2011. From the write-up:

Wade Wilson, the merc with a mouth, is good at three things: violence, not dying and being a bit funny in the head. So when he was found to be the only one immune to the consciousness-destroying Awareness, he had to team up with his alternate-reality counterparts to form… the Deadpool Corps! Lady Deadpool was a rebel who fought against a fascist American government; Kidpool was a student at the Xavier Orphange for Troubled Boys; Championpool has mastered every form of combat in the galaxy and is virtually unbeatable; and Headpool is a disembodied head from a world where everyone is a zombie. This exclusive four-and-a-half-pack of 2-inch Marvel Minimates mini-figures unites the five members of the Deadpool Corps. Each figure (except Headpool) has 14 points of articulation.

Farscape coming to Blu-Ray November 15

A+E will be releasing the complete Farscape series in Blu-Ray on November 15th. The series will be offered in season sets at $70 each or as a full series for $200. The set will feature remastered footage from the original source material. The set will not include the Peacekeeper Wars mini-series that tied up loose ends at the end of the series since those rights are still in the hands of Lionsgate.

Fans of the site may remember that Farscape was covered in one of our Powet Alphabet articles, F is for Farscape.

Note that the preorder price on Amazon is only US$125!

TGS 2011: 3DS add-on peripheral appears on Nintendo site

We’ve seen some images and rumors about an odd add-on for the Nintendo 3DS. Engadget alerts us that the peripheral has been listed on Nintendo’s Japanese web site with an expected ship date of December 10th retailing for ¥1500 (US$19.50). It will require a AAA battery. The device adds an analog stick to the right side of the controls, but I’m not too clear on what else it does. The listing also include a compatibility chart specifying what games that will work with the add-on (and their launch dates). Games include, but are not limited to Monster Hunter Tri G, Biohazard: Revelations and Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D.
