		<description>I never understood that Superman Red/Blue thing they tried to pull in the &#039;90s.  Then I realized they were paying homage to some campy Red/Blue thing from much earlier.  But that didn&#039;t explain certain things, like how they were ADAMANT that &quot;this is the new Superman -- get used to it!&quot; before &quot;Red&quot; even showed up.  It smacked of afterthought.

So now I wonder if it hadn&#039;t served as some kind of test run to see if they could get away with a Superman who only consisted of DC&#039;s held trademarks, disguising it as &quot;Superman for the new Millennium&quot;.  Grotesque.</description>
