The 6″ line will be sculpted by the 4 Horsemen and will consist of build-a-figure waves of 5 characters each, with variants and chase figures included in every wave. Mattel assured fans that this fixed number of characters would allow collectors to better know what each wave contained without the confusion of inconsistent assortments. Each wave will also be balanced with a minor theme or idea connecting the characters and will consist of a tent pole character, a villain, at least one obscure character, a teammate and/or sidekick, and a relevant BAF. Therefore, there will be no all hero or all villain waves. They also confirmed that variants would could contain the same BAF piece as the primary releases, and that the build-a-figures would usually be 1-2 inches taller than the largest basic figure in the respective wave.

Five waves will hit retail in 2008, with the first wave set for release in January.
