Transformers Shorts: On the Prowl

A pretty awesome video went up on YouTube yesterday:

It’s not terribly heavy on story, but technically this video is a marvel. The opening sequence is excellent (looks like it took longer to do than the rest of the “episode”), and the cinematography and sounds effects are definitely top-notch. (I just wish the voices were better…)

I definitely want to see more of this. If you like it too, we can make a point if letting you know when new episodes are available, but I’d definitely recommend telling the creator directly and/or subscribing to their videos!

Anderson no Longer Heading the Castlevania Movie

CastlevaniaIt would appear that someone’s prayers were answered. Paul S. Anderson has announced that he is stepping down from directing the live-action Castlevania movie, in favor of making the movie Death Race instead. Anderson hands control of directing over Sylvain White, and has said that the two will collaborate on rewriting the script for the film. Sylvain Wright is known for such movies as Stomp the Yard, and hopes to do a film adaption of Frank Miller’s Ronin in the future.

Oh happy day!

Of course this will still rub some Castlevania fanboys the wrong way, and cries of ‘it’ll be some melodramatic dance movie’ have already been sounded. Of course this is despite the fact these same fans complained that Anderson would make Castlevania another Resident Evil or Alien vs. Predator disaster. What does this CV fangirl say to all that? At least it’s not Uwe Boll people.

Castlevania now has a slated release of late 2008.

Indiana Jones and The City Of Gods

Unnecessary sequels, prequels, and threequels cannot match the raw uncalled for force of another Indiana Jones picture. George Lucas, not satisfied with a decade long gutting of Star Wars, apparently convinced star Harrison Ford and director Steven Spielberg that the “Last Crusade” needed a follow-up, now almost 20 years later.

Now next summer’s adventure has a name, Indiana Jones and The City Of Gods, and the persistent rumor is that Indy will fight aliens, and discover he has a son with his Raiders cohort Marion Ravenwood, played by Karen Allen.

I could go on a poop on this movie some more, but I’ll leave that to the comments section. I mean, I really hope it will be good, but opting out of the spiritual and religious stuff that made up Indy’s adventures in favor of aliens just seems odd to me. That and Harrison Ford will be 65 next month, making hold older than Sean Connery was in Last Crusade.
