PvP: The Animated Series

Scott Kurtz is taking a huge risk by turning PvP into an animated series with subscription based revenue model. And although I’m not 100% sold by this preview, I am however sold on the idea and will hand him my $20.

Kurtz spoke to Comic Book Resources recently and I’m totally with him wanting to do this on his own rather than letting someone Hollywood buy it and he loses control. Who knows, if it gets popular enough, he may be able to write his own distribution deal for TV and DVDs…

Transformers 2007: Barricade CG model, Scorponok toy

200px-tf_teaserposter1.jpgIn the last few days we’ve unveiled the first look at Scorponok in the movie and Barricade as a toy. I’m happy to report we have the reverse now.

Harbx has posted a wallpaper of Barricade. Its very nicely done, but I can’t help being bothered that maybe they cut some of the model off to make it look nice as a desktop image for a computer.

Infamous Hong Kong ebay seller SPX Toys has an auction for Scorponok. He’s not as monochrome as we thought, but may win the battle for ugliest face.

View both after the jump.

Transformers 2007 toys: Barricade, Frenzy, Brawl, and Bumblebee

200px-tf_teaserposter1.jpgNearly finished toys for several Transformers movie characters have made it onto eBay. For the first time we can see what they look like with painted decoration… and in robot mode!

Once again, we are going to mirror these images since eBay auctions don’t last forever. Click to continue reading!

Halo 3 Teaser – “Starry Night”

The Monday Night Football on ESPN commercial for Halo 3 is here. Xbox.com has a streaming version, and Team Xbox now has a 720p version!

Much like the E3 Announcement Trailer from earlier this year, this teaser starts slow… but ends with a much bigger bang. Chief is packing a new defensive manuever as well.

Transformers 2007: Leaked CG models, new trailer on December 22

200px-tf_teaserposter1.jpgThe car bloggers at Jalopnik have come through again with some CG partial stills of Megatron and Bumblebee, as well as a full body shot of Optimus Prime. Since these images are potential spoilers, we’ll save those for after the jump.

ShootForTheEdit.com, Michael Bay’s site, has an update on the next trailer:

I spoke to Mike about a week ago, and as you can imagine he’s busy editing the movie.

He indicated that the trailer was basically done (minus a little CGI work) and that if all goes according to plan, the trailer should be out by the weekend of the 22nd of December.

Ok, now how about those CG renders….

Wind it Up (Fan Version)

This video a compilation of fan submissions for the Barenaked Ladies Air Guitar contest.

What makes this whole project unique is that BNL went independent for the release of their newest album Barenaked Ladies Are Me. The album is currently available for download without any copy protection on the MP3s.

This is part of the mission of their new label, Nettwerk Music Group. As they say in their mission statement:

…as per Nettwerk copyrights, we have never sued anybody and all our music is open source to encourage fans to share it with others and help us promote our Artists. As per those Artists we manage on other labels (Majors), we take issue with those labels claiming that litigating our fans is in our interest, as it clearly is not.

Since we at Powet.TV are out to change the way people make and watch television, we thought it was only appropriate to spotlight companies changing the way that music fans listen to their favorite artists.

To read more about how BNL has broken away from the mainstream industry (and the success they’ve had doing so), check out this article over at The Future of Music.
